Inspire HR/Windows 10/Sync Difficulties/Dashboard stats vanish for last 3 days

My setup is as follows (recent purchase secondhand, about 3 weeks ago):

  • Uninstalled fitbit apps on android and rebooted
  • Only fitbit app installed/logged into is windows 10 AIO desktop which I rebooted after difficulties syncing
  • Checked bluetooth is on
  • Fitbit USB dongle is in
  • Restart fitbit app on windows 10
  • Eventually synced sucessfully, but steps missing for last 3 days - saw them on the fitbit

any suggestions for reasons why?

any advice to prevent in future?

OK - solved, but what a fiddle

  • My windows 10 desktop is an all in one lenovo with bluetooth like a laptop
  • Tried the Windows bluetooth troubleshooter a few times
  • Eventually got the fitbit inspire to restart - just awkward to hold it on the charger and a number of goes to make it restart
  • Switched bluetooth OFF on the desktop and relied on the fitbit dongle
  • Showed connected but still wouldnt sync
  • more opening and closing the fitbit app
  • Finally synced - missing data is back

Sorry fitbit - not hugely impressed

  • sucessfully synced today but sync status shows as 19 may

  • Fitbit device will not restart with charger connected and press and hold for 5 seconds
