i have a new fitbit inspire hr and i have just done 30mins on my stationary bike for the first time and i know the fitbit inspire hr doesn’t auto track stationary bike so i manually started the exercise as spinning and manually stopped it after i finished. but then i checked the tracker and it added at least 2000 steps?! i know i didn’t move my arms & my hands didn’t move off the handles . should i have selected bike and not spinning? why’s it added lots of steps when i selected a bike exercise?
any advice thanks

@Claire22 Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your Inspire HR counting steps while on your stationary bike. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen while driving. In this case the movement of your body may be detected by your Inspire HR. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.
Let me know how it goes.
