We have upgraded our 9yo daughter from quite uninteresting child focused devices.
So we purchased a Inspire HR on special.
Why are children prevented from registering this device on a family account. The ACE and ACE2 serve no value to my child, so were not chosen, but I obviously want to allow connectivity to our family app protect her online and allow her to track her HR sleep and activity.
I would like some Fitbit explanation why this isn't possible, and what suggestions they have besides purchasing toddler focused watches.
Surely the child's age should dictate the app connectivity and safety not the device they wear.

Hello @Cannulator and welcome to the Help forums. Your daughter can't have her own account and use an Inspire HR for the same reason why she can't have a Facebook account. The US has the Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act. Other countries and the EU have similar laws. These laws regulate a concept called the age of digital consent. All of the "adult" trackers have a web dashboard, making information available on the web. The Ace/Ace2 are the only trackers on the Family Account because they sync differently. Their information is not available on the web, only in the app. Does this make sense?

EU and US laws are irrelevant here, but that’s not the issue at hand.
Legislation is irrelevant when functionality can be circumvented by simply changing the age of a child.
Compliance with digital protection acts is not occurring by allowing such a back door process and encourages unsafe practices.
That a child account within a family set up is restricted to an ACE or ACE2 is the concern.
A child with an Inspire HR can’t be part of a family account.

Yes @Cannulator we are aware that only one model can be added to a family account. That is why @LZeeW posted a link requesting that more trackers be allowed.

‘We’?
’I’ am also aware too. I’m also aware of legislation outside my country being a non reason for the poor family support.
