The tech support at Training Peaks have told me that you can sync some fitbit devices to TP, but not all. You can sync the ones that have second by second GPS recording. They thought the Inspire HR did not do that, tho is has GPS tracking of some form. Can someone confirm this.
Also I see that a file uploaded to TP of the following form. It just doesn't open so I take it it is not the right format for TP. The file suffix was tcx.gz. Does this make sense to anyone? I have heard of tcx, but not tcx.gz.
I gathered the Charge 3 (which was among the devices they said does sync with TP) and some others have files of a different format. What format does the Charge 3 use?
Does this make sense to anyone?

@leibowif It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your app integration and GPS data. The integration is done by the third party, still it is between accounts not directly to your tracker so you can try selecting a different device when linking both accounts. You can try using the GPS on your phone to tracker this data (the Inspire HR doesn't have a GPS chip) by following these instructions.
Regarding the GPS data it is exported as a TCX file, retry downloading it or use a different method (you can use the Fitbit app or the website). Please check this article for instructions.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi Alvaro,
Here's the news. I'd appreciate your illumination.
I did a test of the ohone-Inspire connection with a short test walk, and indeed I did get a tcx file that uploaded to Training Peaks. Had to do it manually but that is no big deal.
The puzzle is this: Yesterday I got a tcx file but it had no data in it. I was using the rowing machine in the campus fitness center, wearing the fitbit and had the phone nearby. I called the exercise "Weights".
Today I was in a cycling studio (i.e., stationary bikes). I had the phone nearby again...in fact in a bag hanging from the HB. Same result.
There was a perfectly good record on the Fitbit dashboard, though, in both cases. That format was having no issues.
Can you help?

Addendum : And in neither case, did I get the "Export as tcx file" message. Assuming I didn't just make a mistake in the standard procedure, does this make sense?

Today I took the phone and fitbit on an interval ride on a real moving bicycle and I thought I was following the instructions for using the connected GPS with the fitbit; both were with me. The Fitbit activity file looks normal and has data like HR, distance, and on but there is no GPS file there. And the tcx data file uploaded to TP is empty. Can you illuminate? I have no idea what I might be doing wrong.
On the phone, the location is set to Always. Bluetooth is on. Fitbit has permission to access GPS and cellular. The Inspire is set to Phone GPS and HR on.
