Inspire HR and the Clip Accessory?

Hello everyone!

I recently got the Inspire HR and I purchased the clip Accessory because I already have an Android Wear watch that I like for other stuff. I don't recall anywhere previously saying that the HR wasn't compatible with the clip and the user guide mentioned that Clip On/Off toggle that I had used prior to the most recent update.

Now I see that the option is gone and the marketing says that the clip is not compatible with the HR. What happened? Did I just miss this somewhere before I purchase my clip? I use the band for sleeping and workouts, but I wanted to use the clip for when I'm just walking about.

Is it truly not compatible anymore? Will readings be accurate? And if not, can I get a refund because the marketing and options on the device lead me to believe that it was compatible when I purchased?

I'd like to go back and forth between the clip and wrist but am concerned the clip would cause damage to the HR monitor.  For those of you who do the same, does it damage the HR monitor such that the monitor would not work if you switch back to the wrist?  Or can it switch back and forth?  Thank you.

I used the clip for two days while we stayed at a hotel and I wanted to use the treadmill. I haven’t noticed any problems now that I have switched back to the wrist band

I WAS switching with no problem other than that in the clip, trying to get
my heart rate was draining the battery faster. So I just turn that off to
save battery life. It’s easy to turn it off and on.

Hi I just got an inspire hr and I also purchased the clip. I tried pressing the side button for 2 seconds as it says and swiped up but I’m not getting anything that says clip or watch option. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks

If you read through some of the previous comments, you will see that the
Inspire is not sold to be put in a clip. Everyone seems to have had good
luck with it in the clip, but you won't have that choice to switch it
because Fitbit does not sell it for the clip.

From what I understand, they took the clip option off the list. I just left mine set like it usually is and it measured my steps. It won’t do heart rate stuff while in the clip. I only plan to use the clip when I use a treadmill. I wear it on my wrist the rest of the time.

I also purchased the inspire HR to replace my fitbit one.

I was excited about the clip option because I can not always wear it on my wrist.

I like the possibility of changing back and forth from wrist to clip.

Any chance that would be a possible option for the Inspire HR in the future?

Sorry reading these comments and just not sure of the clip does or doesn't track steps while in the clip...will keep reading the posts! Thanks

It did track my steps on a treadmill. I don’t know about stairs.

This model does not track change in elevation. It isn’t the clip. Yes the clip fits. But the model itself is not set up to keep track of stairs, no matter how you wear it. It just records them as normal steps. But to answer your question about the clip, using the clips only interferes with heart rate stuff, not how many steps you take each day.

Your answer is very disappointing for two reasons.

1) I don’t like how big the inspire is compared the the flex 2 therefore I want to hide the device

2) and when I googled inspire hr clip, your marketing made me believe it would still track HR

i only bought the HR for the sleep tracking which I guess if you’re not wearing it on your wrist doesn’t work.
ive been a long time user and fan of Fitbit but really considering throwing in the towel. And I’m not the only one. This is a discussion that I’ve had with other like minded friends. I’m very frustrated and seem to be spending too much time being frustrated. Guess it’s time to let it go.

Matt - I ordered the clip with my Inspire HR. Haven't used it yet, but am dismayed to hear it won't work. I bought so I wouldn't need to wear the band when going to upscale dinner with clients. Is it possible to get a refund?

@Donnalu22If you are using the clip it works very well with the Plain Inspire

The HR model is bigger and does not fit well

The Fitbit Inspire HR fits nicely into the clip I purchased on Amazon.

I just received an inspire HR for Christmas.  I started using it with the clip a few days ago, and it seems to track my steps just fine.  So far I’m happy with it

It seems counter-intuitive to take the option away.  I have severe arthritis in my wrists and can't wear anything there.  I'm hoping the count is close to accurate.

And yes, the Inspire HR Users guide still talks about the 'clip' option.

I am in the same boat as many as I read though this board that I need to replace my 4+ year Fitbit One.  The HR model has everything I want, but the clip mode that Fitbit removed.  From reading it does seem like people are having good luck still using it clipped.

Are you using the Fitbit clip or are you finding 3rd party ones to be better?

When using it as a clip is there anything I need to do in setting?

Thanks

The clip will count your steps..but not your HR.. The fitbit has to be on
the wrist for HR.
If you are only gonna do the clip..get the plain Inspire.
I alternate mine between clip and wrist..depending in my activities.

Same with me. I use an Inspire clip, wristband for swimming and when I want
heart rate.
