Inspire HR and the Clip Accessory?

Hello everyone!

I recently got the Inspire HR and I purchased the clip Accessory because I already have an Android Wear watch that I like for other stuff. I don't recall anywhere previously saying that the HR wasn't compatible with the clip and the user guide mentioned that Clip On/Off toggle that I had used prior to the most recent update.

Now I see that the option is gone and the marketing says that the clip is not compatible with the HR. What happened? Did I just miss this somewhere before I purchase my clip? I use the band for sleeping and workouts, but I wanted to use the clip for when I'm just walking about.

Is it truly not compatible anymore? Will readings be accurate? And if not, can I get a refund because the marketing and options on the device lead me to believe that it was compatible when I purchased?

Thank you.  This is just what I wanted to read.  I only want something on my wrist when doing a workout.  The rest of the time I want it on my belt.

Im in same position, clip mode was on Inspire hr, now not an option!

I hoped it would pick up my sleep pattern, but no.

I previously had versa lite, but because of a glitch  neither the shop nor i despite my queries had been made aware. I had to stumble across an article to find out. I work in hospital so cant wear wrist watch so sales rep recommended Inspire. Now i have 2 fitbits that i cant sync on one account, although it was how it was sold to me, now they say set up 2nd account in another email, but phone will only take one fitbit app.

I even tried to register my 2nd fitbit as me as my child! That didnt work either, this all leaves me so frustrated

Sorry...yes it is frustrating!
I have 2 fitbits..one, the Ionic, I use for hiking, and the other is an
Inspire HR ..that I wear on a clip while at work..

I have them both on one account, and can switch back and forth by going to
" set up a device and it will say "switch to Ionic?" and I switch
depending on what I'm doing.

I mainly use the Inspire on the clip..but I put it on the wrist band at
night if I want to track my sleep.

Good luck with your fitbits, maybe switching then will work for you.

The clip worked for me to just track steps but I have found a velcro ankle
strap that I can wear that tracks steps and heart rate. Looks like an
ankle braclet but does the trick.

I just bought the HR and the clip. Bought it specifically for the clip on feature.  Frustrated.

I’ve only used the clip a couple of times when we’re staying at a hotel and I was using a treadmill. I counted my steps just fine. I wasn’t really concerned about my heart rate for those few days.

Yes i bought it for same purpose, then discovered Fitbit changed things so
basic Inspire only works with clip, i miss the HR, the basic so basic!!

Why are you frustrated?  You can still put it in a clip and it works fine.  And if you want an HR and/or sleep info, you can still get that with it on your wrist.

You are right I will use it, but I never wanted to wear it on my wrist and so I bought the wrong inspire.

I wasn’t the one that was frustrated. I was perfectly fine that it only measured my steps when I used the clip. We were on a trip and I wanted to use the treadmill at the hotel, but keep track of my steps. It did what I wanted. I only used the clip while I was on the treadmill.

Oh bummer! I just bought one online. I'm new to Fitbit and didn't even think to check if it worked with my Fitbit. I have the inspire HR too.

I appreciate the accurate and honest answer, but this sort of stinks -- the HR is ostensibly an upgrade over the base model -- why would it lose that functionality?

Can’t read pulse unless sensor is against skin I guess. I will take the advice to wear clip when I don’t care about heart rate. Too bad though.

Probably because it needs to track your pulse. I used to have the FitBit One and it only tracked my steps. I was fine with that.

I wear the Inspire HR..on the clip for work, to track steps..but switch to
watch band when hiking or exercising...so I can see my heart rate.

That seems to be a good compromise.
