Hi,
While sitting on my couch just now, fitbit gave me a badge for getting 25,000 steps in a day. Perplexed, I checked both my Inspire and the app and between 8:00 pm and 8:15 pm it thinks I walked 20,229 steps. I have reset my device according to the instructions here and it still reads the inflated step number.
I have noticed for the past few weeks, in the app only, a crazy high step count. However, this is usually resolved when the app and my Inspire sync up and it goes with the correct number from the Inspire.

Sorry to hear about this and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Do you have any third party app linked to your account? Or have you tried logging any activity? This could explain why the steps showed on your account. Still I suggest you troubleshoot the app by logging out, restart your phone and log back in. If you see this again then try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. You could try negating the steps by logging a driving activity.
