I made the switch to the Inspire HR from the Alta at the weekend. My fitbit is now counting loads of steps I'm not making, including at least 300 a night when I'm asleep and many more when I'm sat at my desk in the day. I estimate it's counting at least 1-2,000 more a day than when I was doing exactly the same routine with the Alta. I've switched it to dominant hand so it overcompensates, and I've got GPS on- but that doesn't help when indoors. What else can I do? I enjoy doing Fitbit challenges with friends but can't do it any more if I'm cheating!

@HeatherJ67 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here!
Let me help you with your Inspire HR counting additional steps. Your device will detect the movement on your arm and translate that movement into steps. There are situations in which your arm may move but you won't be actually walking. For example, this may happen when you are playing the drums, burping a baby or clapping. It can also happen when driving. You can negate these steps by logging a driving activity. You can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand but select that hand as dominant on the device’s settings to make it less sensitive to movement.
Let me know how it goes.
