Inspire HR doesn't record active minutes, distance and heart rate accurately

I’m getting more and more frustrated with my inspire HR - it randomly stops recording active minutes, it doesn’t accurately record miles, it stops recording my HR...I’m really sick of it. I’ve restarted several times, I’ve re set-up the device multiple times, it’s ridiculous! It should not be so temperamental. I’ve only owned it for @6 weeks. So frustrated.

Thank you for your reply. Here’s an example - on Monday, my inspire recorded a 42 minute exercise, but only 30 for the day’s total active minutes! Maybe I’m missing something, but that just doesn’t add up to me. I tried cleaning the back of my monitor with alcohol, so we’ll see if that helps. I usually charge it while I shower and I don’t wear moisturizer/lotion, so it doesn’t get gunked up (and I got in May 30th, so not old). I’ll have to experiment with some of the other suggestions, etc. It just seems like a lot of fussing involved for something that should be low maintenance and straight forward. Maybe this device/app tries to do too much?

@KHA51167 It's great to have you here!

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not recording your data correctly and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. What type of exercise are you doing and for how long when your active minutes aren't being recorded. Active minutes are granted for the most intense activity your tracker detects this won't equal the amount of time you do an exercise. For example if you go for a walk and do this for an hour but decide to actually jog or run for 20 minutes of that hour, your hour long activity will be detected but most likely will be awarded only 20 active minutes as these were the intense ones. You can read more about active minutes and how they are calculated here so you can compare it with your activity.

Regarding the distance, your device uses the number of steps and stride length to calculate the distance. You can improve the accuracy by measuring and logging your stride length. Feel free to use these instructions to do this.

Finally regarding the heart rate I suggest you clean the back of your device with cotton and rubbing alcohol and restart it. Turn the heart rate off, save and sync then turn it on save and sync again. Also check these tips to improve the heart rate reading on your device.

Let me know how it goes.
