Hi. I was just given an Inspire HR and it is connected to by iPad. When I receive a text, it appears on the Inspire, but I don’t get a vibration. Is my device defective or have I configured it incorrectly?

Hi @Kay27 There is nothing you need to do to enable vibration. It sounds as if yours is not working correctly. Does it vibrate at other times? Like the alarm, when you meet your daily goal, or when you put it on charge?
Try restarting it several times, but if that doesnt get it vibrating properly please come back here

No it didn’t. I don’t have a smart phone that might be the problem.

Are you saying it never vibrates at all?

Welcome to the Community Forums @Kay27! Thanks for the details provided about the vibration motor on your Inspire HR.
In addition to the Notifications options in the Fitbit app, you may need to modify settings specific to your phone. If you’re not sure whether your phone is compatible with notifications, visit: Which phones and tables can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?
Notifications should appear on your device when it's near your phone (about 30 feet). If notifications are delayed or missing, see My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone.
Note that most Fitbit devices don’t receive notifications when you turn on the Do Not Disturb, Quiet hours, or Driving mode setting on your phone. Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, and Fitbit Versa receive notifications, but your device won’t alert you. Swipe down to see your notifications.
Additionally to the information provided above, as @NellyG mentioned, It'd be great if you can test the vibration motor in general. See: Why didn't my Fitbit device alert me?
Give this a go and let us know the outcome, we'll be around.

A couple of issues since an update a couple days ago froze my Inspire HR. The wakeup alarm has quit working and I seem to have no vibration as the reminder to move is not working either. The mileage tracking icon on the dashboard is also not registering correctly.
