Got my first Fitbit, but quickly noticed that with any exertion, my heartbeat is recorded as exactly twice what it is in reality. This could be from simply walking for 5 minutes. I am accurately monitoring my own heartbeat with my wrist watch, and noticing the Fitbit reading to be doubled.
This results in the Fitbit thinking Im exercising when I'm not, recording the wrong heart rates, and prompting me to start exercising when I'm just walking somewhere, or talking to a friend.
The Fitbit appears to be reading my both my systolic and diastolic as two separate heartbeats, thus doubling my natural heart rate. Does that sound like a reasonable explanation? Is anyone else experiencing this?

Hello @Ryefield nice to see you around! I'm happy to see that our new Inspire HR is your first Fitbit. Thanks for the detailed explanation about your device behavior.
Let me give you a hand with your heart rate concern. I'd like to share with you that our heart-rate tracking technology, known as PurePulse, is specially designed to give you a more complete picture of your health and fitness. Heart rate can be affected by numerous factors, such as personal physiology, location of wear, stress level, caffeine intake, medication. You can find more about these factors here.
Since you've noticed that your device's heart rate reading to be doubled, I'd suggest the following:
1. On your Inspire HR display, swipe down and tap on Settings.
2. Find your heart rate settings then turn them OFF.
3. Allow 10 seconds and turn again the heart rate settings ON.
Also, I'd recommend you to restart your device.
Keep me posted!

Inspire HR
Your suggestions do not work. I am on my 2nd fit bit now and it behaves the same. It says I burned 4000 calories yesterday, and logged hours of cardio. And continues to double my heartbeat with any excursion.
It is so sensitive that mearly holding the band with a thumb and forfinger will allow it to read my heartbeat.
It is wildly inaccurate. But may be an ego boost for anyone who wants to believe they are doing more exercise than they actual are. Was that the developers intention?
As a moderator, I don't think you read my comment, or believed what I was saying. I am manually tracking my heart rate, and the device is doubling it whenever heart is under load. It dramatically over counts my steps, it records a hours of cardio I am not doing. It counts thousands of steps while im driving.
I'm going to return it and get a Garmen.

Good morning,
I am also experiencing double counting. One of the main reasons for getting this unit was curiosity about my heart rate, but as previous poster says; it double counts.
I also agree with previous poster that the reply given to him was not an actual reply to his question, so please, give an actual reply or say that it is an inherent device issue, whichever is the truth.
How do I get my inspire hr to stop double counting heart rate?

I am experiencing the same issue. Double heartrate. How do I fix?

I have the same issue. I have low hr of about 45, bought the Versa 2 and it constantly tracks about 90. I read that by pulling the watch about 2 fingers up your arm helps improve precision, and it worked for me. However, this is not very comfortable and i doubt the watch will stay there all day.

I'm also having the same issue, doubling HR, that just started today. I can reset by turning HR feature off for 10 sec and then back on, but only after it tracks hrs of excercise that I did not perform! I don't want to constantly have to check my heart rate on my watch for accuracy. Please let me know if there is a fix.

My daughter gave me a fitbit in 2018 I wore it fore two months with double heart rate, I tried a friends fitbit and the same thing. I got considered and went to the Dr.s. I even had a 16 hr heart monitor done. My heart is extremely healthy. I said "F it" . Some times it's good some times it's not I just don't pay much attention to it.

I just bought the Charge 5 and it shows a heart rate that is double what my blood pressure cuff and another HRM/Sp02 device shows. These 2 other device6 agree with each other and the HR reading is half of what Charge 5 shows. My resting HR is very low (36-40) and the Charge 5 shows 72-80.
Help!
