I’ve noticed my resting heart rate increases dramatically just before my period (up to 15 bpm) - however this month it has increased from 51bpm to 64bpm leading up to ovulation. I know resting heart rate can be affected by dehydration/sleep deprivation but I drink at least 2 litres a day and get an average of 7 hours sleep per night.
I could put it down to a) stress about work deadlines or b) I’ve been running less than normal - I had a 2 week break of very little exercise after normally running every other day at least - but surely it shouldn’t increase this much in a matter of 5 days? I’m only 20 years old and relatively fit - would a change in diet/more carbs & fats have an effect also?
Does anyone have a possible way explanation for this/should I be worried?
