Inspire HR insane inaccuracy of kcal counting

Hello,

i got my Fitbit inspire HR 2 days ago. I worn it all day today and tried for the first time when I exercised. Problem is that it says I burned 4240 kcal today. Although I am really active it is hard if not impossible to believe I burned so many kcal. I knew it was quite hard to get a fitness tracker 100% accurate when it comes to count kcal burned but I was wondering if there was maybe a way to get as much as accurate as possible?! I know the tracker takes into consideration BMR and mine should be 1440 thus, even let’s say I burned at max 1000kcal working out, there is still a 1800kcal I have no idea where it comes from lol

Is the problem that it's getting the calories wrong, or is it a problem where it's getting the step count very wrong and that's causing the calories to be calculated wrong? Does the step count look reasonable?

It sounds like your BMR is about the same as mine and is about 1 cal per minute. If you look at your calorie burn rate at a time when you were asleep it will be showing just your BMR. If this is showing much higher than expected then it would suggest to me that one or more of your profile settings for age, weight, height etc is not correct and it's worth checking yours at: https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/edit

Another reason the calories could be higher than expected is if it, for some reason, thinks your heart rate is very high all the time. Does this look like it's working ok?

the step count seems reasonable , as I had read about someone's complaint in here about the step count being extremely high and inaccurate. Therefore, although on day one I tried to walk on routes I normally walk and knew the amount of steps and Fitbit's step count seemed ok, yesterday I tried to use the step count of my iPhone as well as the Fitbit, the difference between the two was minimal, about 17 steps more for the Fitbit, either they are both extremely precise or highly inaccurate 😅.

Based on my BMR I should burn around 480cal every 8 hours, I slept 8 hours and apparently burned about 560cal. But all my settings are correct.

My HR is usually around 60/65 if I am not exercising or doing anything that involves physical activity hence I do not believe that could be the reason

today I might try to wear the dispositive only during exercise or when I walk for more than 15 minutes and check if there are any visible differences. I do not care about steps which are counted by being at home or doing home activity as they have a low impact on losing wight/ being fit but I would like to have a more or less accurate cal count during weight training and cardio.
