Inspire HR logging thousands of steps while sleeping

Every Friday night my Inspired HR logs an increasingly large number of steps between 2:45 and 3 am while I am sleeping. Last night it was about 80,000 steps, last week was about 54,000. This has been going on for about 2 months.

I restarted it last week based on similar question replies. I don't feel like this is a sensitivity issue because it's always the same day and no other days. Of note this is close to the same time my phone automatically restarts each week - although I don't see how it could be related.

@Shane382 Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the detailed information shared.

I appreciate the troubleshooting performed prior to posting. I'd like you to let me know if MobileTrack is paired to your account, this is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you have a Fitbit device available. If there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating, that might have caused you to get incorrect steps during that time.

If this is the case, try the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap MobileTrack:
  3. Tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  5. Once this is done, continue syncing  your Inspire HR

Last but not least, I've moved your post to this board, in an effort to keep the forums organized.

Just removed mobile track. The steps corresponded to when my phone auto restarts each week so the buzz of the restart could have been the issue. I'll respond after next Saturday.
