Inspire HR not accurately recognizing my walks

I got my Fitbit Inspire HR earlier this month and started off loving it, but now it is causing me a world of problems. I have it set to automatically recognize my walks. Except for the past week, this has been sporadic at best. It either doesn't recognize it at all, or it mislabels it. I went for an hour walk yesterday and all it logged was 20 minutes on elliptical when I was walking up a hill.

When I manually track my walks and go to look at heart zones, it says "Not enough heart rate data available." Every time. And now when I try to log my walks manually, the data entry screen is a jumbled mess. And I can't see what my heart rate zones were during the exercise.

I have deleted the app and reinstalled it numerous times. I have reset and repaired my device numerous times. I always make sure GPS tracking is always on before my walks begin. I also make sure all-day sync is on.

Please, Fitbit. All I want is a reliable way to track my walks and see where my heart rate was throughout it.

Device: iPhone XS

IOS 13.5

@DRock6891 It's great to see you in the Community!

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not detecting your walks, missing heart rate data and activity logging issues and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and records the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account or use the activity mode on the device itself.

Regarding the missing heart rate data could you share a screenshot of what you are seeing on your account? The same with the logging area that you mentioned isn't working correctly, please share a screenshot of these areas. Make sure that your app is up to date too.

Let me know how it goes.

I have the same issue: I have done two similar runs and tracked them manually with Android app + GPS on. On the 12th of June, it gave me heart rate splits for the run. Today it didn't. It's frustrating because my heart rate was recorded and I can see it in the heart rate splits for the day, just not for the recorded exercise. Instead, it says: "Not enough heart rate data available", which is obviously not the case.

Mine doesn't notify me every hour. Sometimes it says I nailed it after 75 or even 35 steps, but rarely when I do 250. Also doesn't record it in daily walks in app.

I have this problem too, and it's been going on since I got my HR in January.  I thought at first it was because it needed time to "get used to me" but I figure by now it should have enough data. I've attached screenshots from my walk this morning. I use an iPhone 8+, iOS 14.6

I've only just resolved the issue of " not enough heart rate data available ".

Have been frustrated for awhile but since most issues I have with technology are user related (yes, me) I persisted in study of this phenomenon.

Firstly, I have Fitbit Inspire HR from 2019. I thought the device may have been too old - wrong. It works beautifully.

* I began wearing the device in 2019 without reading instructions and told myself that I would figure things out later. Everything worked so automatically and smoothly that I really didn't have anything to do after that. Also the screen characters are too small for my eyesight so I never used the screen on the Inspire wristband - Big Mistake as far as this issue is concerned. I have since figured out the minimum buttons and steps needed to perform on the wristband in order to receive both GPS info and heart rate info for an activity (run).

* Next - a) Phone and the b) Fitbit app. I'll explain what I did on my iphone and you'll have to figure out your own phone and app setup.

I thought of the phone as separate from the Fitbit app and gave blanket permissions for "everything and always". (I intend to revisit this later for security reasons). So in Bluetooth settings - wide open permissions; in GPS settings - wide open permissions. In Fitbit app - wide open permissions. In my Bluetooth settings, there are still further settings for the Fitbit app another layer down which I allowed. In essence I did everything I could to have everything talking to each other at all times without human interference. Having done this, I was determined not to touch the Fitbit App on the phone when beginning the run. However I did open the app but didn't do anything with it.

*I started the run on the wristband as shown above and shut it off as shown above. On the Fitbit App on my iphone when I choose "Heart Zones" from the map, it provides the data. I also use the Fitbit.com website for the dashboard data and it now has the GPS map data as well as the heart rate data.

* This solution may help you to get some ideas for you own devices.
