Inspire HR not auto-tracking my workout

I know this has been a issue from previous posts, however I am not sure if there is a solution.

This morning I did a one hour intense work out (Group Power) lots of weights and cardio. It tracked 57 active minutes however did not recognize it as an exercise.

I have tried restarting my inspire, logging out the app and turning my bluetooth on and off (suggestions from another user) and nothing.

Anything else I could try? Thanks! 🙂

Hope you’re having an amazing time on the Forums @NicoleLaunders, I’m really glad that you’ve joined us. Welcome aboard! My apologies for the delay.

Thanks for sharing your inquiry here and for the information that you can see on your Dashboard. You have done a great job with the steps that you've performed to try to solve the issues with cardio workouts.

SmartTrack recognizes and records select exercises to ensure you get credit for your most active moments of the day. This feature only recognizes workouts or activities that have continuous, high-movement activity.

Some of the exercises SmartTrack recognizes are:

  • Walking
  • Running
  • Outdoor biking
  • Elliptical

SmartTrack also recognizes two general categories:

  • Sport—This includes high-movement sports like tennis, basketball, soccer, and others. Sports that may not be recognized by SmartTrack include those without continuous movement or that vary in intensity level, like golf.
  • Aerobic workout—This includes aerobic activities with continuous movement, such as Zumba®, cardio-kickboxing, and other dance classes.

I'd consider tracking your weight lifting exercises directly on your Inspire HR with the option "Weights". Please note that many exercises such as weight lifting cause you to bend your wrist frequently, which could interfere with the heart-rate signal if the watch is lower on your wrist.

When doing weight lifting, your wrist muscles may flex in such a way that the band tightens and loosens during exercise. Try relaxing your wrist and staying still briefly (about 10 seconds), after which you should see an accurate heart-rate reading. Note that your device will still provide accurate calorie burn readings during these types of exercise by analyzing your heart rate trends over the course of the workout.
