I recently ungraded from Alta to Inspire HR and it is not auto-tracking my workouts. I never had this issue with my Alta. I’ve checked out the manual and couldn’t shed any light. Is there something in the settings that I’m missing? Thanks!

@RaRa79 Welcome to the Fitbit forums.
Are the exercises you are attempting to record at least 15 minutes in length? This is the default threshold for auto recognition.
Inspire HR recognizes activities based on the continuous movement of your arms, in some cases, changing the wrist that you wear your tracker on can improve activity recognition. Remember that if you change your wrist, you should also change your handedness setting.
Hope this helps. If you have additional questions, you know where to find me!

@RaRa79 In that case, I would recommend restarting your Inspire HR and attempting another exercise.
You also have the option to manually log the exercise that was not recorded so you still get credit.

I switched from Flex2 to Inspire HR a few days ago. My Inspire HR does not automatically recognise exercises. I have "walk" set to be recognised from 10 minutes and to be recognised automatically. Flex had no issue with it and caught any stretches of walking above 10 minutes as exercise, while with Inspire, if I don't start "Walk" as exercise manually from the band itself, it won't register. Restarting the band didn't help.I took a walk that lasted 30 minutes yesterday and none of it got recognised as exercise. Steps got counted, active minutes got counted, but no exercise recognition. What else can I do to fix the problem? All the settings seem to be in order.

I’ve tried restarting my inspire hr, and it wouldn’t sync. So I restarted it again and it stopped tracking my sleep. I restarted it again and everything went back to normal. At no point did my Fitbit ever track my minutes active. I’m beginning to think there is a problem with it. What can I do now? Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem girl. I'm thinking the inspire has issues. Ugh!

I just did 5km on the treadmill and my inspire HR didn't track it either. But last night, it tracked my bathtime as swimming. Weird!

I just got my fitbit Inspire, my husband bought it as an upgrade to my Atla HR in hopes the band issue with the Alta doesn't repeat itsefl with the Inspire and i can stop wearing twist ties on it to stop it breaking. Seemed all good but.... like this person it is not autotracking my exercise. I know how it is supposed to work as I had my Alta HR for two years now. I might have to return this, was hoping the water proof and different band style would be an improvement but seems the functionality is not there. I have exercised every day, as per the last two years with my fitbit alta HR and it sadly says I did nothing but have active minutes. I never put in the manually because if you do the fitbit app then uses an algorithm to work out calories instead of the Heart Rates achieved and over estimates the calories. Auto Track has been awesome on the other, is there a fix for this not working, am I missing something on the Inspire? It is all set on to auto track after 10 minutes of each exercise right now, I checked that.

Well I know the autotracking will not track a treadmill workout unless you are free arming the on the treadmill, not holding on. I have had my alta HR for two years and figured this out. It won't track an exercise bike either, i believe as your arms don't move. The treadmill and elliptical both auto track well on my Alta (no my inspire right now) no issues as long as I move my arms also.

@RaRa79 Same issues. I just started a “walking challenge” with my co-workers and all was great yesterday and the. Today for some reason only half my day is showing up. Absolute nothing from 8am— 2 was tracked.

I have the exact same problem...I loved my Alta but the inspire is nothing more than an ugly watch at this point 🤷:female_sign:

How do you do this? I tried to record my treadmill workout today and while it captured the full time of my walk & my activity level, it only recorded 1.07 miles and underreported the number of steps I took. Taking the tracking info from the treadmill itself, I walked 3.12 miles. If I add the workout manually for the exact same period of time, all it does is duplicate the data. Now it appears as though I walked about +7500 more steps than I actually took because there are 2 entries.

The settings on my inspire say that it will recognize eliptical of 10 or more minutes. My eliptical has the arms that move. The inspire is not seeing it as an eliptical workout.
Also, it auto recognizes my showers as swimming....big fail.

I miss my alta HR too. Normally the new product is an upgrade. I have had nothing but problems with the inspire HR
