Very often, I notice my Fitbit not counting steps even though I’ve taken 20+ steps. I have it set to non-dominant wrist. Is it a sensitivity issue? I can’t find a way to adjust it. Once it wakes up it will start counting, but never catches up with the “missed” steps. It’s not a sync issue because I’m looking at the count directly on the Inspire device. Once in a while would not be a problem, but this happens a lot throughout the day. It makes my step count meaningless. I’ve tried adjusting how I wear it, and stomping around the house. Nothing seems to work, it just randomly starts counting again.

@BRFit Welcome back to the Community. Thanks for the details mentioned and the troubleshooting tried.
The sensitivity setting could be changed for the sleep feature. It's not possible to change this setting for step count.
Fitbit devices use a 3-axis accelerometer to track movement. Our finely-tuned algorithm interprets the data from the accelerometer to provide a step count. When you sync your device, your step count appears in the Fitbit app. Learn more about it by checking this article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?
Could you try restarting your tracker and then check if your steps update in real time?
I'll be around if you have any additional questions.
