Inspire HR not detecting steps while walking in water

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I bought my inspire hr because it is waterproof and I walk in water an hour and a half a day and wanted to know how far I'm going.  It doesn't track anything and I'm swinging my arms more than when I normally walk.

@gdkedik A warm welcome to our Community!

Let me help you with your underwater step count. The movement will be different under water as the water will present more resistance to it. This variation in speed and angle may prevent your tracker from detecting steps as it wasn't designed for this. Still you can try changing the dominant hand settings to non dominant but wear it on the dominant hand to increase the sensitivity of the tracker. You can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account too.

Let me know how it goes.

I noticed the same thing while walking in water last summer. To help you estimate the distance, first measure your stride. Then use the stopwatch on your InspireHR and count how many steps you take in the water in 60 seconds. From this you can calculate your distance per minute. Now, just use the stopwatch to find out how long you walk in the water for each session. Then just multiply the number of minutes times the distance per minute and you have your total distance for that session. Voila!
