Inspire HR not logging swim

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Today I used my Fitbit to track my swim for the first time. Prior to this I’ve manually logged my swim on the app.

The device was definitely working when swimming. But after ending the session the swim hasn’t logged on the app.

I’ve used the reset option when the device is connected to the charger, as recommended by live chat, but it didn’t work. Live chat seems to be offline now.

Can you help me to get my swims to sync.

Hi @FoMozza , Restarting your device wont get it to sync an activity it failed to record. Hopefully it will track it next time though. Just checking - when you swim, are you swimming a recognised stroke (overarm, breaststroke, backstroke or butterfly)?

Hi NellyG,
Yes, breaststroke.
This time I manually started the activity on the device.
The advice I got from the associate on live chat was to reset the device (didn’t work!) and to next time allow the device to automatically start and track the swim.
I won’t swim again until Friday, so I’ll give that a try.

Breaststroke is apparently harder for trackers to work out than the other strokes, but having said that, my fitbits always pick up my breaststroke. It may be to do with how you do it (I'm guessing here). If if still doesnt pick it up on Friday, try altering your arm movements in the breaststroke to make the movements bigger or more defined (for example if you have a slow smooth arm motion, try doing a stronger, more definite PULL motion). Good luck, and go back to Support if you co tinue to have problems.

Oh I meant freestyle! I always get those two mixed up if I don’t stop and think about it!
Thanks for your suggestion though. I’ll see how I go next time.
