Inspire HR not recording sleep consistently

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve had my fitbit a bit less than a year. I wear it all the time except when showering. For most of the year it recorded my sleep ok but in the past month or more there are some days when no sleep is recorded at all. And today it got my bedtime correct but said I woke up at 4am, which is not true. Everything else syncs fine from fitbit to app.

Hello @baukor. Welcome to the community forums!

Thank you for the information and for any step you've followed prior to posting. At this time, I'd recommend restarting your Inspire HR by following the instructions provided in this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

In addition, please try to change the Sleep sensitivity setting. For example, if your sleep is now set to "normal", try to change it to "sensitive" and test your Fitbit device. Take into consideration that normal mode can work well if you make significant movements like rolling over, so your device records time spent awake. This setting is appropriate for most users. In sensitive mode, your device records nearly all movements as time spent restless or awake. This setting may be helpful if you wake up feeling tired even though your sleep history shows sufficient rest.

To change your sleep sensitivity setting:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab, then tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap Advanced Settings > Sleep Sensitivity and make your changes.

I also recommend visiting the following link for tips and suggestions about Sleep: How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?

On a side note, please make sure that the Fitbit App for your mobile device is up to date

Hope this helps.

I restarted my fitbit per the instructions (as I had done once before) and updated the app but the problem isn’t resolved. My sleep was properly recorded for one day but today it said I only slept until 3am. I don’t understand why I should need to change settings now if my sleep was recorded properly every day for at least the 1st 9 months. I have not changed how I’m wearing the fitbit.

@baukor Thank you very much for your reply.

I appreciate the additional information you provided. I'd like to let you know that the suggestion to change the sleep settings is just to see and test the behavior of your Inspire HR.

Nevertheless, I respect your decision if you wouldn't like to perform any change and I'd recommend contacting our Support Team for further assistance. Note that you can contact them through chat or over the phone, but phone wait times have been longer than normal, so I recommend initiating a chat. Click here to get connected.

See you around.
