Inspire HR not tracking anything correctly

I’ve been having many issue for months! It was working perfectly fine for the first few months I’ve had it, then all the sudden couldn’t properly track information that it previously did fine on.

  • My sleep is not accurate (saying I fell asleep hours after I did, waking up hours before I actually did, having a simplified sleep report, etc)
  • my exercise gets broken into two sessions instead of one long workout (I’ve done the same kickboxing workout for years and it tracked it as one exercise session before)
  • my exercise gets tracked as one workout, but the minutes are wrong. My workout is usually around 50 minutes, but it will track it as a 20 or 30 minute session, even though my active minutes says around 50 minutes.
  • I don’t consistently get my notifications on my Fitbit. Even though my phone is next to me and the Bluetooth is turned on, I won’t feel the vibration or see the notification come through on my Fitbit.

I have reached out to Fitbit on multiple occasions and have tried resetting my Fitbit, updating the app, restarting my Fitbit, other troubleshooting and they are telling me that I just have to WAIT for the engineers to solve the bug. There is no time line on when that will be and no one is being held accountable to let me know when the issue is resolved. I am just supposed to find this information out on my own?? They told me they have been working on this issue for months and they still don’t have a solution...makes me feel real confident that the engineers will solve this issue 🙄. And they cannot send me a replacement because this is something that the engineers are actively working on. HA!

Customer service has told me that they have no communication with the engineers. They can’t tell me what is defined as actively working on a bug (active as in its an open case, active as in they spend x amount of hours working on it, etc), if the engineers are given a time span to resolve a bug before it can be defined as unresolvable, how long on average it takes engineers to fix a bug, NOTHING.

Fitbit, you need to do better. You need more communication between customer service and the engineers working on this bug. Someone needs to be held accountable for not coming up with a solution in a timely manner when people have been waiting MONTHS to have this solved.

Has anyone done research on other step/activity tracking devices??

I’ve been having issues with my Fitbit for a couple months now, and after talking to multiple people in customer service, I am very doubtful that they will do anything to resolve my problems. I’ve been a loyal Fitbit customer for many years but I can’t justify having a Fitbit on my wrist if it can’t track anything correctly. I’m looking for something else that can track my exercise/steps/heart rate etc.

Hi @Beckaww  your recent posts were merged, so your answers can be in one thread and not scattered across the forums. You didn't mention which phone and operating system you used. I'm using Android and Fitbit knows there are some issues with both Android and iOS at the moment. As for knowing which tracker you should get, why not work with what you already own. Let us know which phone you use so this can be moved into that area for more relevant responses.

I have an iPhone XR with the current software.  I have been having issues before I have done the latest iPhone update though.

I’m only looking into getting a new alternative because Fitbit is telling me that they can’t give me any update on when these issues are going to be fixed and to just wait. If they’ve been working on this bug for a couple months and they still haven’t found a resolution, I’m not very confident this issue will be fixed soon, or ever.

Unfortunately FitBit is the most inconsistent tracker I've ever owned...I can go out for 30 min bike rides and some days it will capture the entire ride, somedays it will only record half the time, and many others it won't capture my ride at all...It's the greatest waste of money I've ever spent...I'm done with Fitbit

I am having similar issues with my own Inspire HR. A few days ago I was credited with about 3,000 steps and almost 60 intensity minutes for a workout I apparently did at 2:30am while I was in bed asleep. On other occasions it shows that I am in bed and asleep at 5pm while eating dinner.

Customer Service also tells me that it is a known bug, being actively worked on, so please enjoy the rest of your day.
