Inspire HR not tracking sleep accurately

Hi,

Lately I have been having issues with sleep tracking. At least once a week my device does not log any sleep at all, and on other days it only records part of my sleep cycle. Last night for example it only logged 3 hours and 48 minutes while I slept for at least 7 hours.

I have tried restarting, resynching and tightening the wrist band, all to no avail.

Does anyone have a solution for this issue?

TIA

do you use the begin/end sleep feature on the phone app or just let fitbit detect you are sleeping.  The begin/end sleep feature (which I used to use) does not give you detailed sleep data.  It gave me detailed sleep data but not all the time.

I don't use the feature on the phone app, Fitbit detects when I am sleeping (or it should). I never used to have any issues with it but it has been malfunctioning lately and I have been unable to figure out why.

Yes it should work then, my problem is no one mentioned I shouldn't use the phone app.  It seems to be a bit buggy feature. Export your sleep data what do you see?

I found this which helped me understand my problem:

'If you are not receiving sleep stages, I recommend considering the following:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.'

This is a cut and paste so links might not work.

Thank you but this does not solve my issue. Like I mentioned earlier it was functioning fine before and has only recently started malfunctioning.

I have already tried tightening the band to ensure the device doesn't move but that has not solved the issue.

I have the same problem and tried the same solutions as you. Nothing has changed on my end, so I suspect this is a software issue and/or a way to get me to buy a new fitbit (which seems to have to happen every year).

My fitbit worked for a year but now since Jan 2020 does not give cycles... but does give restlessness and times awake... tried everything...
