I just got my Inspire HR and I love it. But, it is not tracking stairs climbed. I live in a home with stairs everywhere, so it's already missed 12 flights of stairs climbed today. Is there a way to fix this?

The Inspire (HR or base) does not have an Altimeter in it (like the Charge or the One), so it will not track stairs, other than as regular steps.

Inspire HR doesn't count floors climbed.

I am very disappointed. That is one of the features I wanted.

I just got my Inspire HR and was very surprised that it does not track stairs.  I was using my very old Fit One (clipped) and it would track stairs, so it's odd to me that this feature is not available on the newer model.  Also, the different exercises should include elliptical.  Thanks.

Me to I miss the floors stairs I also walks stairs a lot.

It does have elliptical, but you have to add it from the fitbit app. Took me a while to realize it came with 15 different exercises because the 6 "slots" you can see on the watch are all filled by default. When you get rid of one, you can see your other choices. I have mine set to walk, interval workout, weights, treadmill, hike and yoga. Bummed about not having stairs though.

I agree, especially after I was told by QVC that it did count stairs. I also had an Uno that tracked stairs and decided to upgrade. Looks like newer is not better.☹️

Ah. That would explain why the Inspire doesn't track stairs.

That's a remarkably stupid oversight, don'tcha think? Why would a newer model of device have fewer features than an older, obsolete one? I just got the Inspire after my Charge HR finally fell apart and I'm frickin' PISSED it can't do as much as a three year old fitbit could

Best Answer

I would not have bought it if I knew!!! I hike often and have done some very serious inclines lately. What a disappointment! I’ll be looking at other trackers (and may not be Fitbit).

Best Answer

What is truly stupid, is that it even appears on the tracking app. Why tell me ‘0’ stairs? Just leave that out. And YES...who rolls back technology? Disappointed for sure.

Best Answer

Yeah, this is completely stupid. I was wondering why I had not gotten any stairs in a week ( since I switched from the Fitbit One to the Fitbit Inspire HR).  While I do love the HR functions lol Ike the heart beat, auto excercise tracking and sleep stages. It completely baffles me as to why it did not count any floors. Now I come to find out it cannot. That is a very big step back. I liked how the app would act when I completed all the different goals for one day. Why wouldn't the setup process tell me that stairs would not be counted anymore. And why would a newer model no have all the functions of an older one. I cannot be the only person to have made this switch. I choose this coming from the One as this model can still be worn with clip when I cannot where a watch. Very disappointed to find out it does not have all the same features as an an older model.

I sent mine back. As to the auto tracking of exercise, it one day
congratulated me on my swim. Haha. No swimming for me. Geez. I still have
no replacement device. I write down my actual exercise in a small date
book. The rest is just daily living.

I just walked down stairs with it in my hand with no arm swinging and it recorded 33 steps.

I am currently evaluating the device and so far my findings are not favourable.  It exaggerates distances and steps by about 20%.

Not impressed.

So disappointed the Inspire does not track stairs.  I wish they still made One.  Not everyone likes to wear the counter on their wrist.

Best Answer

inspire  HR  does not have an altimeter  so it can not tell climbs, it is besides that point that elevation +  distance figures highly on burning calories and your health and heart.
That was a corporate decision. think of it as bait. lol
You want floor count, then you got to spend money and by the more expensive version of fitbit.

Best Answer

I am confused why it doesn't track stairs since the description on their site says that it tracks floors climbed.  I bought it based on the fact it states it right on their website.....

I was not only told by my seller BUT it also lists stair climbing counter in fitbits own page for the Inspire HR plus it offers it as an excise under settings you can choose from but will not show up on the device after choosing it.. Was pissed to find that it does not. Blatant false advertisement by Fitbit.
