Inspire HR only vibrates for texts when close to phone

My Inspire HR only vibrates or shows text notifications when I am very close to my phone(moto g6 play). When I am away from it, within the 30ft, it no longer does. Tried all the resetting, repairing, restarting tips. Wondering if it's losing Bluetooth connection when not close?

@LDH19 - Since your Fitbit does not have cellular service, it must be within 30 feet of your phone to receive notifications. This allows your phone to send the notification to your Fitbit. As you have experienced, if the phone and Fitbit are not within 30 feet of each other, the phone cannot send the notification.

No, it's when I am less than 30 ft away. Even just a few feet away and it doesn't vibrate. Only works when basically holding my phone.

Bought my Inspire over a year ago (Oct '19), and all was well with the notifications. I would be notified anywhere in my home. In fact, weather alerts woke me up a few times, needlessly, when my phone was in my bag on another floor. Now it doesn't show any notifications no matter where I am. It keeps disconnecting from Bluetooth as soon as I walk away from the phone. This has only been happening since December '20. Clearly something in the software has changed. Please change it back.

Thank you.

P.S. In addition, EVERY time I try to sync my Inspire I have to reconnect/pair it to Bluetooth. This was not happening mere weeks ago. It is getting old fast.

I too was wondering if it was due to an update to the app. I contacted the
Help desk through Chat and he led me to a link with Fitbit approved devices
and my phone is not listed so that might also be contributing to my
problem. When it's time for a new phone guess I better check that list
again.

I cannot speak to the compatibility of your phone, but I can tell you I have an iPhone, and it was working fine until about a month or so ago. Easy to sync, got all the notifications, as soon as I was in Bluetooth range it connected - just like all my other Bluetooth devices. No muss, no fuss. I was extremely pleased. Now, it will not even sync because it loses its pairing as soon as the phone screen shuts down. I have to fuss with it every time I try and sync it. It is beginning to be too much of a chore to use. In which case I'll have to explore other products. Are you listening Google?

My sense is that it was indeed a software update because it happened so spontaneously - working one day, not the next. They were probably trying to resolve some other obscure issue. They probably fixed one issue and blew everyone else up.

Take care of this Fitbit/Google.
