I just received an Inspire HR to upgrade from my One (which works perfectly). So far I'm experiencing over-counting of steps, steps while I'm driving, etc. I'm wearing on my non-dominant arm and set the app to dominant to try and decrease sensitivity. I've restarted a few times. No improvements.
I've also noticed that when I sync through the app, my steps are suddenly decreased. By a thousand or more. Yesterday I had over 10,000 steps, received a notification of reaching my goal and a few hour later when I synced I was down to 8900. I have not read about this problem before.
I'd appreciate some help to fix this otherwise I need to return the Inspire because it's currently worthless compared to my old and reliable One.

Hi @MWwalker thanks for reporting the issues with your Inspire HR. I can see that you took the time to read the threads regarding similar issues. Thank you for taking the time to perform those steps.
When you’re doing activities that involve arm movement such as knitting or changing pages while reading a book, this might give you some steps and distance information by mistake. For most customers, the number of extra steps added by arm-based movement isn’t significant when compared to your overall stats. You can read more about Fitbit accuracy here: How accurate are Fitbit devices?
About the missing steps after syncing your Inspire HR, I'd like to confirm if you're not using the option Mobile Track or if you're not using both trackers in the same account.
I'll be around waiting for your reply.

Thanks for the reply, @YojanaFitbit. Yes, I read about the Mobile Track issue in another thread and verified that I don't have it on.
My steps were a couple thousand over what I'd expect, so it's more than negligible. I also noted a few hundred steps accumulated during a short drive.
I'm wearing my new Inspire HR in a clip now (I know it's not advised, but it seems to be the only way to improve the accuracy), but I'd love to wear it on the wrist, as intended, to make use of the heart rate monitoring. If there are any other ways to improve the accuracy, I'd love some advice.

Thanks for checking that your Fitbit app is not using the Mobile Track option @MWwalker.
Your device has been tested against driving and riding in buses, trains, and other public transportation and shouldn’t add steps when you’re traveling under normal conditions. On bumpy roads or in a car with a stiff transmission your device may add some steps. If you want to remove the steps from your daily total, manually log the driving activity for the time you were in a vehicle. For more information see: Fitbit Help - How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?
Thanks for letting me know that you're using a clip with your Inspire HR, but as you stated in your post we don't recommend this option for this model. Please check some extra tips to improve the accuracy of your Fitbit: Fitbit Help - What can I do if my step count seems inaccurate?
Give it a try and keep me posted on the resolution.
