Inspire HR receives text messages but won't show them

I used to be able to read the text messages on my inspire hr.   Now I only receive a notice that I have an unread text message.  I've tried every setting but no resolution.  Not sure when this changed.  Must of been after an update.  I have Samsung s10 plus. Interesting that I can read my email messages on my tracker but not text messages.

Hi @Caldridge. It's nice to see you around.

I've moved your post to the Inspire & Inspire HR board as there are more chances to get related replies here. Thanks for letting me know about your Inspire HR and for the steps tried prior to posting. I understand how you're feeling about your tracker not showing your text message correctly and because you have an Android phone, please give a try to the following:

  1. Open your Messages app on your Samsung Galaxy S10+ phone.
  2. Go to Settings > Notifications.
  3. Make sure there is a checkmark next to Preview Message.
  4. Once this is done, open the Fitbit app and pull down on the screen to force a manual sync.
  5. Try receiving a text message and monitor your tracker's behavior.

I have it set to detailed notification. Still doesn't work.

Under notifications there is no preview setting. There is a setting for

brief or detailed. I have it set to detailed.  I can read my emails on my tracker but no text messages. I've tried every setting suggested by support and nothing works.

Hi there, @Caldridge.

Thanks for taking the time to review my post, as well as sharing more details about this situation. In this case, let me recommend reconnecting your tracker to the Fitbit app so we can see if the text notifications start working correctly. Let's try the following steps in the given order:

  1. Forget your Inspire HR from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. On your phone, tap Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  3. Go back one screen, tap Force Stop and reboot your phone.
  4. Restart your tracker to refresh its performance.
  5. Open the Fitbit app, tap your profile picture > Set Up a Device.
  6. Select your Inspire HR, tap Replace Device and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once this is completed, set up the notifications one more time and let me know how it goes.

It also looks as if you do not have a Sense @Caldridge.

For help it is better to know what phone you have, rather than the phone you don't.

Since you do not have an iPhone, you will not have a preview to worry about, but make sure notifications show on the lock screen

Hi @Caldridge. It's good to see you again. @Rich_Laue Thanks for stopping by to help our member.

@Caldridge Thanks for your efforts. I understand that you have an Android phone and for that reason, may I know if you were able to complete the steps described in my previous post? If so, is your Inspire HR still not showing your notifications correctly? Are the text messages coming from your phone's native messaging app? These details will help me to investigate and continue helping you with this matter.

See you around.
