Inspire HR recording full sleep cycles while charging

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

My wife's Inspire HR is consistently recording full sleep cycles while charging including REM.  Considering that the charging sessions are an hour at the most I cannot see how this is not a bug as normally it requires a full 3 hours of sleep time to supposedly detect your sleep cycles.

This has to be an issue with the device or software, I am more inclined to the latter as I have seen so many people complain about the same thing.

Deleting the incorrect entry is not a solution and this needs to be addressed properly.

Thank you

It's great to see you around @PierreJoubert. Thanks for the details mentioned and the research done prior posting.

It's pretty weird that your tracker is recording sleep while you're charging it. I would like you to restart your Inspire HR and when you charge it check if it works normal.

I'll be around if you need further assistance.

I have restarted it multiple times and it still does it, even my ionic does the same thing on occasion.

Once I left my ionic on the bedside table overnight, not charging, and it recorded 12 hours of sleep with cycles... Nevermind that the sleep cycles it "recorded" made absolutely no sense whatsoever please tell me how this is physically possible?

Since the update that gives a sleep ‘score’, my Fitbit has twice recorded sleep sessions over 8 hours long. I knew, based on when I went to bed and got up, that this wasn’t possible - so I checked the details. The Fitbit recorded sleep start times of around 8:30pm - when I was either reading or watching tv. I subsequently went upstairs, took the Fitbit off to charge it whilst I had a bath, and finally went to bed. My resting heart rate is low, so I guess the device read my inactivity (reading or watching tv) as sleep - but I have only seen this error since the update, so wonder if an error has been introduced.

You make a good point we have seen an increase in issues since the sleep score introduction but we have been also experiencing this for some time before

Thanks for getting back @PierreJoubert. Sorry for the delayed reply.

Thanks for sharing your experience @Pony1961

I would like you to perform a factory reset and then check if your Inspire HR doesn't track your sleep while its charging.

Let me know how it goes.

@PierreJoubert Thanks for confirming that you've tried a factory reset. Since, your wife is the one that's experiencing issues with her Inspire HR, I would recommend to let her know that she contacts our Support team, they will be happy to continue assisting her.

I'll be around if you have any additional questions!

I have already emphasized that I am having the same issue with my ionic.
What is the point of the community when you suggest nothing but resets and
contacting support.

I will contact... For a refund... As what is the point of a device that
doesn't work!

This will be that last Fitbit I bother with. You can be guaranteed I will
never buy another, I have had 4 Fitbit devices in the past and every single
one has given inaccurate readings. Always held onto the hope that the next
one would be better, that the next one would have the issues resolved...
But no, the only thing you lot are bothered with is enabling more premium
rubbish to suck people dry of their money... Which most of the premium
features are useless anyway and zero value for the money charged.

I can happily say that I have wasted my money on those features, ran with
trial and none of it had any benefit.

What's sad is that Fitbit is ranked as one of the better products... which
shows the inaccuracies in all these products.

I just couldn't be bothered anymore, I actually only wear my Ionic on a
daily basis because I have it, actually I think I am going to sell it.

That's that rant over with.

Simply why bother with it when my own personal barometer of sleep quality
is far more accurate compared to the Fitbit products which consider me in
deep sleep when it's on charge....

@SilviaFitbit For a while my Fitbit appeared to record relatively accurate sleep, but since I left it off the other night, it has gone haywire. It isn’t recognising any sleep before midnight. I’ve been going to bed around 10:30 and not lying awake for ages like I sometimes do - so I am pretty sure I got some sleep before midnight.

@Pony1961 Thanks for getting back.

Please change your sleep sensitivity to sensitive by doing the following:

  • The normal setting counts significant movements as being awake (such as rolling over) and is appropriate for most users.
  • The sensitive setting will cause your device to record nearly all movements as time spent restless or awake. This setting may be helpful for users who wake up feeling tired even though their sleep history shows sufficient rest.

Also, please restart your Inspire HR

Let me know how it goes.
