Inspire HR records 4 times the number of steps

I have always found the Inspire to be reasonably accurate but have just started using a stationary stepper and it records 4 x the number of actual steps! I also have a cross trainer which I know isn’t accurate whilst wearing on my wrist but if I put it on my leg it seems fine but not really sure just how accurate it is?

Hi @yellowdaisy, welcome to our Fitbit Community. Regarding the extra steps that your Inspire HR has tracked, I'd like you to restart it as described in this help article. After this, check out this help page, which explains why your Fitbit device may track extra steps.

Finally, monitor your Inspire HR during the next 24 hours and see if it stops tracking extra steps.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I have sone that and remeasured. The actual stp count is fine when walking if I use the stepper by just stepping up and down it records double the steps but thinking about it maybe that's correct??

Hi @yellowdaisy, thank you for trying the steps previously shared. Since you mentioned that the steps are still doubling, try setting up your Inspire HR from scratch and wear it a little bit tighter.

Let me know how it goes.
