Inspire HR registering swimming when I wasn’t even exercising!

Very strange... I just had a notification saying my Fitbit had recognised 16 minutes of swimming earlier this evening. And the only thing I’ve done this evening is cook, eat and watch tv! I deleted the excercise using the app but now worried that it’s inaccurately registering that I’m doing more excercise or burning more calories than I actually am!! Anyone had the same issue?

Hi @Akjm99 These things happen from time to time. Just restart your Inspire several times and it hopefully wont happen again.

I'm experiencing the same thing! Today is recognised 128 minute swim.. while I was in work. It's done this on numerous occasions and I've deleted the workout every time. I've reset the device a number of times, cleared user data and it still does it. Get it fixed, Fitbit. I'm worrying it's not accurately picking up steps if it's registering a swim workout. The two are completely different forms of movement.

I had the same thing! I was folding laundry! 😂

Anyway to erase the information? I just was congratulated for 16 minutes of swimming. I was very active cleaning out a closet.

Never mind! I figured it out. I recategorized the exercise to walking.

Had my new Fitbit Inspire a week and it's registered swimming for 39 minutes when i was actually ironing!

Me too. I was folding laundry. I do this so often with 4 kids it would be great if it was as much exercise as a swim lol 😆

I’ve just noticed I’ve done 16 minutes swimming and 13 lengths a few days ago. I think I did weed the garden in drizzle sometime this week but suspect I was sitting quietly eating my lunch at the time it reckons I was swimming! Mine is the regular Inspire (not HR). Anyone found out why this is happening?

My fitbit always logs me as swimming everytime I rock in the rocking chair. 🤣

Yes! Seems I’m swimming a lot these days (not). I agree that this is giving an inaccurate read of a person’s exercise. Please fix this, Fitbit, as isn’t this the whole point?!

Having had my Fitbit Inspire tell me I was swimming when I was in fact weeding the garden I have now had the opposite! I've been in Greece and went swimming every day for almost half an hour but my fitbit didn't register my swimming once. It's the first time I've actually used it in water since I got it a year ago so am not overly impressed.

Did you happen to be washing dishes or showering? My registers me as swimming every time I wash dishes, my guess is that because it’s getting wet and heart rate maybe slightly raised it thinks swimming .. any one else agree??

Also had this. Seems my Luxe registered ironing as swimming. Was wearing my tracker on my dominant hand as I was giving the other wrist a break. Will be interesting to see if it does the same when I am wearing it on non-dominant hand as I do normally.

Yea, just bought the versa 5. I only have it a few days now so would it expect it to be in perfect working order. I've already restarted it once. It recorded a swim today for 25 minutes and I was not excercising.

What concerns me is it recorded zone minutes in the orange zone but then didn't display my actual heart rate in the other area to check it. I am on heart medication and so one of the main reasons I have the fit bit has been to monitor this. I understand it would never be completely accurate but I was expecting more than this.

I  am wondering if it is the app that needs to be sorted rather than the watches themselves..the information being displayed is not coming out as clear as it did last two years. Very disappointed I must say.
