Inspire HR reminder to move inconsistent

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The reminder to move feature on my inspire HR seems to be very inconsistent. Sometimes it will alert me 10 minutes before the hour and other it doesn't. I can literally be sitting looking at the time on my phone knowing that the tracker should be vibrating and it never does. But then the next hour it will vibrate. In other words it's been consistent in its inconsistency.

@Nobuhle Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well!

Let me help you with your reminders to move feature. I would like to explain how this feature works. It won't necessarily vibrate for each hour you have set it. The feature will allow your tracker to vibrate IF you haven't walked 250 steps for that hour and will do so 10 minutes before the hour ends. If you have already walked 250 steps or more then you won't get any reminders as you have already been active for that hour. You can read more about the feature here.

Let me know how it goes.

Let me clarify. It isn't consistently vibrating even when I DON'T reach my 250 step goal. I literally checked on a few occasions within a minute or rep before it should go off and have confirmed that I still had steps to go and it wouldn't vibrate. It's got it miss in my case.

I'm having the same issue. I'm getting the notification just fine one hour and not the next. Just today, it didn't remind me at 9:50 because I had already hit 250 (yay) as expected. At 10:50, 11:50, and 12:50 it gave me a reminder to move because I hadn't hit 250 steps yet. Then I looked at the clock at 2:07 and realized I hadn't gotten a move reminder like I should have at 1:50, and sure enough, I had not hit 250 steps. It'll work as intended for a few days then it'll go crazy. Some days it doesn't give any move notifications and others it'll be random whether or not it gives the reminder. It makes it very difficult to hit the goal of 250 steps every hour for 9 hours each day when it's not giving the reminders like it's supposed to. Since I work a computer-oriented desk job, I really rely on the reminder to make sure I'm moving at least a little.

It's really frustrating. I even switched out devices and the replacement had the exact name problem. I literally kept looking at the time until our hit 5:50 to see if it would vibrate and it did absolutely nothing. I had 0 steps by then. I can literally count on one hand how many times it has vibrated in the last month when it should have.

And even more frustrating is that the Fitbit moderator that that asked that I tell them how things go never even responded to my reply that clarified my issue. It makes me feel like Fitbit couldn't care less about Customer satisfaction.... Like it's just all about the Benjamin's. Smh

You post just made me realize mine hasn't reminded me to get up and move since I started having problems with it not tracking my sleep or how many days over 30 min I exercise during the week which I have set to 5.  The response I got from my first 2 issues was they are working on it.

Just realized mine only reminded me to get up and walk in the first week of using it. After that it has all gone down the hill. It won't track my sleep or exercise time and I'm getting annoyed. Cheaper and simpler Flex was so much better.

Well that's better than the response they gave me. I was told that's this is what happens with technology, as if to say get over it! I wonder if Apple cares that much about the flaws in there smart watches.

After 3 months of wearing it every day to everywhere, it started displaying text messages and emails today. Not all of them just somene random ones here and there.

I'm glad it's not  just me having issues. Wish they would get this fixed, or at least act like they really cared and offered us all our money back for a defective item. Even if it is the updates it still affects the tracker.

Trust me you are not alone in this. Maybe if enough people complain, they will consider fixing this problem

yeah, wouldn't it be nice if they cared enough about their customers. Smh

This is exactly the situation for me, too, and it's frustrating! The whole point of the reminders is to get your attention when you've lost track of the time, so you remember to get up and move every hour (super important with a desk job). I can't rely on my Inspire HR to actually do this, though. Typically, there are at least two to three times per day that it does not remind me, when I HAVEN'T completed 250 steps that hour. Sometimes it misses more than two or three, sometimes it misses fewer, but most days it misses at least a couple. Argh!

I forgot to add that I've had this FitBit Inspire HR for just over a year. It has consistently missed reminders almost every day since I got it. This isn't something that only started recently.
