I was gently waking up this morning when all of a sudden my Inspire HR shocked my arm. I've read other cases of people being shocked by their Fitbit, all different models. How is this being addressed so it doesn't happen again? An hour later my arm is still throbbing!

I've just finished a chat with support about this issue. I've had my fitbit Inspire HR for a week. At first i thought I was imagining things, but today it definitely shocked my wrist leaving my pinkie finger tingling for half an hour after and my wrist hurting. I had already turned off blue tooth, turned off heart rate hoping that might help. Support gave me a tracking # and sent via email a mailing label, told me to return the tracker body (they called it the pebble) and charger (postage at my expense IF don't have tracking/case #), and they'd replace it within 5-7 business days of receipt. I'll try that. However, I think having the battery contact points touching bare skin is a poor design. I hope the manufacturer will improve that as I like the tracker otherwise.

I'd suggest a cover for the metal battery charging contacts, one that could slide off or be opened when charging the device and protect the skin from shocks when worn.

Want to add that although it took a month to receive the replacement, there have been no further problems. The new one has worked well since receiving it. Thank you, Fitbit.

I’d had mine about 3 or 4 months and this started happening to the point I quit wearing it. Got nowhere with support nor Best Buy so just don’t use any more

I've just started using mine since Christmas and the fitbit has shocked me, made my fingers tingle, produced a livid mark / infection and several burn marks (tiny flat spots like small burns) on both my left and right wrist as Ive tried both to alleviate the problem. This appears to be a common problem - as the support team have told me the special response unit that has been set up will contact me to discuss this!! As this issue is widely reported, and the device costs £90 in UK - about $120 - surely the manufacturer cant get away with this??

They told me a member of the "special team" would contact me - predictably, no response at all thus far three days later. They gave me no indication when it might happen (I did ask), and I now see they have updated the warnings page to tell folks experiencing shocks or nerve pain (like I did) to stop using the fitbit immediately - but no guidance on recall or refunds. I have taken decisive action recognising the usual tech company run-around - we are so sorry that you...I have passed your comment to.....thank you so much for being stupid enough to do business with us!! so I have returned the damm thing to Amazon for a refund, and returned another I'd ordered for a present to a relation for refund as well. I suggest you might try the same thing as clearly this bunch of cowboys is all "style" and no substance - typical tech company!!
