Inspire HR shows 10000 steps when I wasn't wearing it

All my fitbits since the latest update record steps when I'm not wearing it.  Like 10000 at 8am and I don't wear them to bed.  I had 2 versa 2s that did the same thing and returned it.  My inspire hr worked great for a year then got updated and does the same thing now? Is it my account? Its been 3 devices now.

Hi @Dramallama83, it's great to see you in our Fitbit Community. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire HR has registered a huge amount of steps steps when you are not even wearing it. I totally understand how you feel about this.

 

Please restart your Inspire HR as described in this help article. After this, check out this help page, which explains how your Fitbit device may track extra steps. Finally, monitor your Fitbit device during the next 24 hours and see if it stops tracking steps when you are not wearing it.

 

Keep me posted on the outcome.

I tried this...several times...it still records at least 3000 steps a day while it sits on my counter all day.
