Inspire HR stopped receiving text notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got an Ispire HR five-six months ago, and the text notifications have been working fine, but within the last 4ish weeks I've been getting maybe every other notification? And now in the last week or so I get even less then that. I get maybe one notification for every five or six texts. I know there's a range, but it does this even when it's on my person, on my person, within just a few feet of me, ect.

I've tried restarting my phone (Galaxy S9+) and my Fitbit but nothings fixed it. A big reason as to why I got the Fitbit I got was for the text notifications, so its extremely frustrating that its stopped working.

Flipping my wrist to get the display to come on also stopped working about the same time.

Any suggestions on what else to try? TIA

@Joogie , what you say is correct, except for email. If you turn on app notifications for the native email app on a Samsung phone, you will not get those notifications. I was told by Fitbit support you can only get email notifications from 1 email app, and it's gmail.

On my phone not the App itself, I went to settings>Apps&Notifications>Select the FitBit app>Select Storage>Clear storage. Once that was completed I restarted the app, signed in and set up the notifications again and they seem to be working fine.

This was on an Android, I'm not sure how to clear the app data on IOS

Hi everyone. I'm glad to see you here in the Forums, and welcome to our new members. I'm sorry for my delayed response.

Thanks for the troubleshooting steps that you've tried on your own. I understand how you may be feeling about this situation and let me help you with this. As some of you know, our team is aware of the text notifications not being received, even though you're receiving other type of notifications. They're working on this issue to resolve it and hope to have a fix soon. In the meantime and if you've not done so, please try the steps in this help article which have helped other users and be sure to keep your Fitbit device and app up-to-date.

@ClaudetteB and @Penny159, about your question, please make sure the screen wake setting is turned on so your Inspire HR can wake up when raising your wrist to a viewing position. To do this, go to the clock face on your Fitbit device, swipe down > tap settings > turn on screen wake.

I'll be around if you need anything else.

Thanks for the response. I can't see an option to turn on wake screen in
settings. Just phone GPS, clear data and heart rate options.

To turn on screen wake, press and hold the  button on the side of your fitbit. Tap on the light bulb icon to activate screen wake

Found this info. Hold the side button for 2 seconds and the battery screen comes up. Touch the lightbulb at the bottom of the screen. That got it working for me.

I, like others in the Forum, stopped receiving text notifications on my Fitbit Inspire HR (and my Flex 2) a couple days ago. I have tried and RETRIED all the suggestions for help. Nothing has worked and I would like to know when this problem will be remedied. It's really not enough to say, "our team is aware..." and "[they] hope to have a fix soon."

My Fitbit app updated today, and now I am receiving text message notifications! So you might want to manually update your app and see if that fixes the problem for you. And, I am now also receiving email notifications from my phone's native email app, in addition to Gmail - yay!! Thanks so much for getting this all fixed!

I agree. It is a frustrating situation. A delayed response with platitudes
and advice which shows very little understanding of the products we are
struggling with. This app is inconvenient and not fit for purpose and any
fixes shared by this community are temporary stopgaps at best.
Come on Fitbit! Step up to your responsibility to your customers, whi have
paid hard-earned money to buy your products.

Mine seems to be working. Not sure how I “fixed” it, though. Hope yours comes back.

I have tried all of the ways listed here and everywhere I could find and my text messages i used to get have not returned.  This is very frustrating.  I got this so I could have texts on a device and now it doesn't meet my needs any more.

It is very frustrating. I ended up starting all over again and
re-registering my device, but needed the helpline to talk me through it and
to save my data. No problems since, touch wood!

Good luck
