Inspire HR stopped tracking accurately

My inspire hr suddenly stopped tracking. I know I've done more today than it's showing. The battery was very low and I recharged it. Was all over the house and up and down stairs for an hour,  but nothing recorded.  Nothing in several hours.  Any ideas anyone?

I've had nothing but trouble with my Inspire HR. It's been replaced at least three times by the company. This most recent piece of trash was working okay (except I am unable to do the "firmware updates"), until suddenly today the touch screen no longer swipes, and it has completely stopped tracking activity/steps/everything. I have done all of the usual recommended fixes...change the clock, reset the device, delete my account and start over. Nothing works. My experience with customer service has been extremely disappointing and I would never recommend a fitbit product to anyone. I'd throw it in the trash, but it's probably really bad for the planet.

Hi @savtac, it's nice to see you again in our Community Forums. Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @SunsetRunner.

@savtac Thanks for the details shared in your post. I recommend trying the following:

  1. Restart the device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Please check if you have the "Non-dominant" wrist setting, it increases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any under counting of steps.
  3. Confirm your height is correct (For more information, see How do I manage my Fitbit profile?)

For more information about the accuracy of the Fitbit devices, please see How accurate are Fitbit devices?

@SunsetRunner I am sorry to hear about the frustration this situation has caused. I appreciate your efforts and the additional details. Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback as it helps us to keep improving. I recommend checking if your Fitbit device is updated to the latest version as updates come with new features and bug fixes: How do I update my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps!

Fitbit has made updating the device impossible for those of us who do not
own smartphones. I have only an Asus Chromebook, and therefore I am unable
to carry out the required firmware updates. Until recently, I was somehow
able to keep my fitbit working (although with frequent difficulties), but
no longer. When I purchased the fitbit originally, I confirmed that I
would be able to use it without a smartphone, then, less than a year into
owning it, Fitbit changed their platform and the computer was no longer
sufficient to carry out the required updates. This was an enormous waste of
$100.

Thanks. Spent time on the chat line and now good to go. If I could only
put back all the active hours from the last 2 days.
First world issue, I guess.
