My Fitbit Inspire HR suddenly stopped working when it is on my wrist - the green light blinks but the screen is off and tapping or pressing the side button doesn't wake it up. It can't sync. When I attach it to the charger, the screen works and can sync, but as soon as I take it off, the screen shuts off. It is charged to 100%, I rebooted it numerous times, erased user data, changed clock face (per some suggestions I found online) but nothing helped. The device is 2 years old. Please advise.

Hi, @begemot , unfortunately when this happens it usually means that the rechargeable battery in your Fitbit has come to the end of its useable life. That’s why it seems to work when it is plugged in, but doesn’t function at all when unplugged.
As I am sure you are aware, all rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan, and, since Fitbit batteries are very small, their lifespan can be only a year or two. It sounds like your Inspire HR has come to the end of its life…
For future reference, you can extend the life of any rechargeable battery by keeping it, as much as possible, between 20-80% charged. Deep discharges should be avoided whenever possible. Now and again letting your battery die completely before recharging will not do significant damage, but regularly allowing deep discharges will definitely shorten the overall life of the battery. Conversely, never allowing deep discharges will significantly increase the life.
in this case, I would recommend getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on Contact.fitbit.com . It is unlikely that after two years or more your Fitbit will be under warranty, but I know that Fitbit is often able to offer a significant discount to loyal customers who are ready to upgrade.

Wow, if the battery died after just over 2 years and cannot be easily replaced, I am very disappointed. I most definitely didn't allow long deep discharge & the size doesn't matter - it should have lasted longer if it was good quality. I won't be buying another Fitbit device for sure.
