Inspire HR stopped working

After 6months of working perfectly & meeting all my needs (with the battery lasting at least a week), this morning I woke to look at my sleep score as usual, but unfortunately there was nothing there! So I checked my heart rate tracking & saw that it’d stopped working the previous afternoon!

My fitbit had stopping working/ died / broken or whatever happened, just while sitting normally on my wrist with absolutely no damaging actions coming upon it.

I thought maybe the battery died, but I was confused because I did not receive any of my usual reminders that I get each time when my battery is getting low.

I’ve since put it on the charger and it just won’t charge at all.
There’s nothing on the screen, it’s not vibrating, nevertheless I’ve tried the 5 second hold, changing the clock face etc but my iPhone 7 Plus can’t even find my device!

I’m so upset I feel so lost without it & I’m obsessed with statistics but now I’m naked & have a broken Fitbit that to be honest is not that old. 6 months is nothing!

I feel like there’s nothing I can do because the bloody thing is not even half working. The screen isn’t there & my phone can’t find it - it’s totally stuffed isn’t it?!

Does anyone know if this Inspire HR has a warranty & if so how long is it for?

Or should I just order a new Fitbit? (If so, which one do people suggest that is newer and that

doesn't stop working out of nowhere!

I know I am definitely not the first person this has happened to.
I’m so mad!!!
I wish i’d’ve seen this info before I bought the stupid thing that I loved so much.

Someone, anyone, help me!

I had the same problem and took a lot of searching for the answer.  Attach your fitbit to the charger.  Press and hold the button until you see a smiley face on the screen.  This could be as much as a count to 30 or so, but don't let go and don't let it come off the charger.  That is basically a reboot.  Good luck!

I too have spent hours upon hours looking for answers, & eventhough I knew ALOT of people have had similar issues with their Fitbit’s, I actually didn’t understand what that meant until I read this startling article earlier today, that has made me lose faith in everything about it!

Planned obsolescence is not cool!!

Despite this despicable finding, I’ll still have to buy a new one because I’ve become accustom to having the stupid device AND I LIKE THE PRODUCT! 😠 ...if it happens again to my next one I most certainly will have to abandon the brand 😭 how annoying.
Is the pressing down for as long as possible what ended up working for you after all that?

Mine still woke wake up 🥺 there is absolutely no sign of life at all.

That worked for me, but I had to try it a few times cause the charge cable is so short.  And in addition, I kept thinking surely this is long enough holding it to the charger and pressing this stupid button!  10th try or so was the charm.
I know how you feel though. Used to love the simple zip, then couldn't synch. Designed obsolescence.  That's why I have this.  So far, no more issues since having to find the 'reboot' solution.  You might try connecting charger to pc and holding button if using a wall plug or vice versa.  Frustrating.  I'm sorry if it doesn't work. Maybe someone else will have another suggestion.

Apparently my Fitbit Inspire has reached its planned obsolescence date. I purchased it April 2019 to replace my failed Alta. It stopped tracking heart yesterday. Anyone know of a non-Fitbit device that tracks heart rate and sleep? Or do I need to invest money in another disposable Fitbit and likely a another née band as well?

I had the exact same thing happen to me as well. The long hold of button while attached to charger doesn't seem to be working for me - I can get the happy face to show up for a second, and sometimes it flashes the face twice, but still dead after that.

Pretty unfortunate too - I reached out to Fitbit about this because I was less than a month outside the 1year warranty mark, and they said "it's outside of warranty nothing we can do, here is a 35% off coupon for a new fitbit.... but you can't use it on our new products ahahaha" Giant slap to the face (I was considering purchasing the luxe. Turns out reviews on that aren't great either....Now I feel like I should look into a different brand). Planned obsolescence is evil.

Funny thing is my Alta from 2016 is still alive and well. Going to wear that while I do some research into a new tracker 😛

It seems like something is up with the Inspire 2... just in 48 hours mine can't keep a charge, lost notifications, I didn't even notice the heart rate monitor stopped until I read your post.  Such a shame, only used mine since February.  I tried the "battery life" tricks tonight and cleaned charger but doubtful it will help.  More just here to vent too.

Same thing happened to mine.  They offered a 35% discount on a replacement.  They can keep the 35% discount.  I'll never buy another fitbit product.

Mine just decided to die out of nowhere too, completely unresponsive.

Found the receipt and it looks like my warranty was up 2 months ago...😪

Looks like its time to find another brand

Same thing happening to me.  Charge wasn't lasting as long as normal.  Yesterday it completely unresponsive.  Did the steps they suggest, charge, hold button 5 seconds.  Not working.  Very disappointing.

this just happen to me as well, I was so frustrated. I held the button down for 5 seconds and released about 13 times in a row and it finally turned back on

Thank you for your reply and for your suggestion of holding button 5 seconds 13 x's and it working for you. I tried that and did not work. Tried doing what FitBit said to do and still not working. Very disappointed.

Same issue, and pitiful response from Fitbit. My Inspire HR just quit. I called and did all the steps as instructed by the service. She was polite but not helpful offering to send me an email that would give me a 35% discount on a new product. After reading all of the other comments and determining that this particular model is simply defective, I requested and was able to speak with a supervisor. She declined my request for a FREE model further indicating that they no longer sell the Inspire HR since among other reasons hearing the feedback from customers. I view this as a partial admission that this model was defective. She declined my request for a replacement as well, offering me a 35% discount on a new Fitbit model of my choosing. In other words I would then buy another potentially poorly designed product from Fitbit??? My decision was to seek other recommendations for similar products. Regrettably Fitbit has become synonymous with fitness trackers, kinda like Kleenex is to facial tissue, but that doesn't mean that it's the best. Check ratings and you too will learn that this simply isn't the case. Bottom line: I'm now a happy Garmin customer. I suggest that anyone considering Fitbit do some research and learn what you're letting yourself in for, as well as what much better options are out there. Good luck
