I started the firmware update about 30 minutes ago and it seems to be stuck...no progress.  Is there anyway to stop it or start over?

Hi @Slvrpdle Id suggest you try restarting the Inspire a few times and then will hopefully be able to try updating again. Please come back if you continue to have problems.

It is not stuck but rather takes an abnormally long time to update depending on your phone.

I'd give it at least an hour.

Mine took about over 30 minutes.

Hi

Mine took an hour and six minutes. Very misleading too, as the first page says you can go away and do other things whilst it updates, then when you click next, it tells you to hang fire and keep the page open whilst it does the update! Which should only take 10 minutes. Not impressed.

My Update (07.14.2019) took 1 hour 24 minutes.  And yes, the screen on my Samsung S7 said that it may take as long as 30 minutes.  So much for exceeding expectations 😉

However, it is worth noting that I had to restart my phone, reset my watch and cycle BT and wait for the normal Sync to occur Before the update would begin.

Should I be able to see anything on the screen during a firmware update?

Just got my HR in today and it's been "installing" for over an hour, and nothing shows on the display.

I got my son an inspire HR for Christmas and have been trying to do the software update and set it up but it seems to be stuck and showing no progress at all.

Hi. Yes I did. I can’t remember exactly what I did since it was several months ago, but it’s been fine with no issues with other updates.
I did a lot of research to find the answer.
I may have deleted the app and re-installed it. I also think I held the button down on the side of the Fitbit for about 30 seconds.
Sorry I can’t be of more help. Whatever I did, it worked and I haven’t had a problem since.

Thanks for the info and taking the time to help.
I just deleted and reinstalled the app and then held down the bottom on the
side for over 30 sec. I am trying to update again. Wish me luck!

I ended up having to get a replacement. There was something wrong with my
first one. Good news, though. FitBit was very good about getting that
handled quickly for me. Good luck!
