Inspire HR thinks I am asleep when I am awake

My Fitbit thinks I am I sleep when I am awake. This morning I spent sometime in bed answering emails, then walked down the hall to wake up my son, then returned to bed to answer emails, and it didn't register that I was awake at all. It thought I was in REM sleep..

I've had my Fitbit for less than three weeks and I like it, but I mainly bought it for sleep tracking. I've noticed since the start that if I'm awake at night and I watch a show on my iPad to try to get myself back to sleep, Fitbit often thinks I am sleeping the whole time, but notes frequent awakenings. That makes sense to me because I'm lying very still. But shouldn't answering emails and  walking down the hall register is being awake? Is there anything that I can do with the settings to make it a bit more sensitive?

I have the same issue. The Fitbit thinks I’m sleeping when I’m quietly reading or watching TV before bed. I’ve been trying to remember to get up and move around every once in a while so it will realize I’m awake. Like you, I got the Fitbit to track sleep, so it’s pretty annoying when it thinks I slept more than I did.  One time, I manually entered an exercise first thing in the morning, and although it registered the exercise, it also said I was sleeping at the same time.

Thanks, Keezy! Your reply made me laugh out loud. Who doesn't dream of being able to exercise while asleep?
