Inspire HR tracking not accurate and not syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've had Inspire HR for several months and all was well but the last 10 days it's not. It stopped counting floors totally on June 24 (I also wear a One and it knows how many floors I've climbed); as an example I was on an elliptical for more than 30 minutes today but it tracked only 17 minutes. Also undercounting active minutes and I now have to force a sync. It goes for days without a sync otherwise. Mobile is a Pixel (original/1).

@Harney Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your Inspire HR not syncing or counting floors, steps and active minutes. For the floor count I suggest you start by cleaning the back of the device with cotton and rubbing alcohol then use compressed air at a distance to clear the altimeter's opening. Finally restart it

For the syncing issues please check this article

Regarding the activities your device detects activities based on the motion on your arm. The automatic detection is a feature called SmartTrack. For example when using the elliptical machine make sure you have the moving bars so your device detects the motion and record the activity itself, once an Elliptical activity is saved on your account it should show on the Recent Exercise area. If your heart rate is high but there isn't much motion (yoga, weight lifting, etc.) then these activities will be difficult to be detected by your device. Still you can manually log your activity so you have a record on your account or use the activity mode on the device itself. This is different from active minutes as they are granted based on the intensity of the movement detected. You can read more about active minutes here.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi, I think part of the problems comes from the fact that earlier this summer I started wearing sunscreen on my arms and that gunked  up the back of the InspireHR. I cleaned it as you recommended. I'm perplexed though about the altimeter. I am sure I used to get floors climbed data but the InspireHR features (on the website) do not include that. So I'm not sure if there is or is not an altimeter. On the back, I see the two contacts that correspond to the charging cable. Would the altimeter be the little circle between the two contacts? I've taken off the wristbands but don't see holes in the end areas.
