So before I get the third degree, yes I searched prior to posting and no I couldn’t find any posts citing issues specifically with napping.
My Inspire HR seems to track my sleep at night pretty well (aside from a truly questionable amount of “awake” time), but I’ve noticed recently that it does not track naps at all. I just went back to sleep for over an hour after getting up to walk my dog and the FitBit didn’t recognize any of this sleep. I’ve had other days when I’ve dozed off for 20-30 minutes where it didn’t recognize the sleep either but I figured that was maybe because it was such a short amount of time.
Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions (aside from manually tracking sleep, which totally defeats the purpose)?

@MD0306 A good question. No third degree from me! Your Fitbit senses that you are asleep when your wrist doesn't move for about an hour. I can tell you for certain that your nap must be more than an hour to be measured as a nap -- that's why your 20-30 minutes didn't register. It's possible that your "over an hour" nap had some wrist movement at the start or the end so that you just missed that magic "about an hour".
You can learn more about how Fitbit measures sleep here.

Mine doesn’t track naps either even if I’m asleep for an hour. My charge 2 did. I thought this one would be better but I regret the purchase. If my sleep is interrupted for any reason it stops tracking. One night it said I got 2 1/2 hours tho I was in bed for almost 7.
Sleep tracking is not something this inspire HR can handle.

Me, too. I don't nap often but when I do during holidays, it usually lasts more than an hour and I certainly slept for more than 2 hrs yesterday and it did not register.
My charge 2, alta, and flex did. 😞

I use to take afternoon naps, and my Inspire HR has recorded some of them (just under an hour), and some are not picked up. I'm not yet sure if there is any pattern to the nap length and if it's picked up or not.

Mine is the same too. I've had flex 2 and charge hr and just purchased the inspire hr. Charge hr I never had a problem with. This however I've noticed after approximately 90 minute sleeps nothing has logged at all!! I even noticed on sleep log last night that I was supposedly asleep even when I got up and went downstairs for 10 minutes and I certainly wasn't sleep walking 😏 Not impressed so far!
