It would be nice to have the option to turn off the touchscreen / lock the screen and be able to open it only with the button.
Now, even with the screen wake disabled, the screen turns on if my shirt brushes up against the touch screen.

Agree. It’s intended to wear while sleeping, but even in do not wake mode, the screen lights up every time it’s bumped. The screen should only go on with the button in this mode or there should be a turn off screen option. The screen should also not light up when the low battery notification comes up if the Fitbit is in do not wake mode. The light wakes me up every time and what normal person is going to stop sleeping to get up to charge their Fitbit?

How does the Inspire HR not have this feature when it was a default option for the Alta HR I just upgraded from.

Need this feature ASAP. Turn off touchscreen to avoid bright lights at night. Going to return it. Will pick it up again if this feature is added. It’s a sleep tracker for goodness sakes!

I found a suggestion elsewhere as my screen wouldn't come on until I pushed the button.
When the time is visible, hold the button in until you see the battery , scroll down, the next icon is screen wake. (tap on it to turn it off or on)

I too would love to turn off the touchscreen for boxing class. My gloves are constantly causing the touchscreen to go off. I even have wraps over it and it still goes off constantly. I have now ruined two Fitbits in 6 months and have bought and old refurbished one to wear for boxing class only.

Mine works perfectly.
Just keep the button tapped till you see the battery icon. Scroll down and you see a ballon icon, where you can turn off/on the screen.
You can also turn off the notifications if you scroll more.
Than keep the button tapped to return to clock

I understand how to turn off the screen wake feature. The problem is that the screen still comes on with either a screen tap or with a button push even when screen wake is off. It should not come on with a screen tap because this is too sensitive and it comes on frequently at night despite screen wake being off. Being woke up by the Fitbit light defeats its purpose as a sleep tracker.

And this is the reason I returned mine a few days after purchasing it. Every time the band touched the bed I was awaked. I liked the band but I can’t deal with that inconvenient light.
If the Team releases a firmware which fixes this (screen on only when the button is pushed) then it’d be a game changer feature for me and I’d purchase it again

OMG I searched for this forever found a video on youtube with a fix.
1. Hold the button for 3 seconds
2. Click the lightbulb so it is crossed out.
This will make it so the screen only turns on if you tap it twice or click the button. . . . Don't know why Fitbit makes this future different for every device.

For ME, even with the notifications turned off, it'll still turn on from a single brush or sometimes just a gentle breeze. And if I don't turn it off quickly, there's a 50% it'll start the timer just from subtle wrist motions. I don't want it to turn on unless I actually press the button. 😞

Fix this please, I'm almost ready to switch to another tracker because of the bright light interrupting sleep, Inspire 2 here.

You've tried the thing above, right? Holding the button for 3 seconds and then clicking the notification thing to disable it? I personally haven't had trouble in a long time so I guess I thought they must have fixed SOMETHING.
