Hello

IveI got a Charge 3, but am thinking about getting an Inspire HR.

What would be the main differences between those two devices?

Thanks!

In terms of features, go to https://www.fitbit.com/compare where you can see the feature list for each side-by-side

A couple that stand out for me are:

  • Inspire HR does not track floors
  • Inspire HR does not support fitbit pay

If you are ok with this then it comes down to how it looks and its size. Personally, I would not see a move from Charge 3 to an Inspire HR as an upgrade.

@Antigone0801 Floors counts are the big one, like Steve said.  The other is battery life.  My Charge 3 gets over 7 days.  My Inspire is around 4-ish days.  I think the Charge 3 is made with higher quality materials.  That being said, I really love my Inspire HR.  I love how slender and lightweight it is.

@Antigone0801   I am not a fan of the "pin" system used to attach bands.  I have broken a few fingernails and one pin on a Versa.  I haven't tried to remove an Inspire HR band yet, but it looks similar to the Versa.  I prefer the Charge 3 connection.

Hi, @Antigone0801 , your Charge 3 definitely has more features than the Inspire / Inspire HR, as you will have noted from looking at the features comparison.

However, you should be aware that if you are considering this as a complementary device to your Charge 3 -- i.e. wearing the Inspire HR day to day and Charge 3 for gym workouts, runs, etc -- that would be a great combination.

Unfortunately, at this time it is not officially possible to have a Charge 3 and an Inspire HR on the same account because Fitbit considers them both "smartwatches" and there is currently a limitation of only one "smartwatch" at a time on each account.

There is a  "workaround" for this, but it is not officially sanctioned, or recommended by Fitbit.

Hi Antigone0801,

If you own the Charge 3, you have the better model. A change would therefore not make sense.

I also wrote a detailed comparison:

https://www.buffcoach.net/en/magazin/testvergleich/48292-fitbit-charge-3-vs-inspire-hr-which-is-bett...

There you will find the differences and again if a change makes sense. Hope it will help you!

I heard that you cannot interchange the inspire with the Charge 3 on the same app?  Is that because the Inspire is being used for Corporate health programs?  I just bought the Charge 3 last fall when my beloved One finally died. I LOVED my one. I am meh about my charge 3 only because I just loved the clip so much because it was discreet and the Charge is hard to hide (and they changed the Analog face- the only thing that made me happy about the change- so it has the idiotic Date at the top). The Inspire looks like it would go in a $20 clip (sad that it is an extra purchase, but if I wear it as long as my One, 5 years, it is a small cost). So will you be able to use a Charge 3 and an Inspire interchangeably, like other Fitbits?  A lack of interchangibility would be a deal breaker.

@essloane  as @Julia_G  mentions earlier, there are restrictions with having multiple fitbits on one account. Fitbit say:

"Note that you can't have Fitbit Charge 3, Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Inspire series, and Fitbit Versa series connected to the same account. If you have any combination of these devices, be sure to have only one connected to your account at a time."

That's a tricky one as it depends which features are important to you. If you go to www.fitbit.com/compare then you can compare the features side by side.

The Charge 3 tends to have more features such as floor tracking or fitbit pay but if these are not important to you then the lower price and smaller size of the Inspire & Inspire HR will perhaps be the deciding factor.

What is the work around because I don’t want to have to remove and add devices every time I switch my inspire and charge 3. Thanks
