I wont even bother to wear my Inspire. What a crazy waste of money and a huge disappointment. Device records a high number of steps while driving in all sorts of conditions. Also while playing piano. I'm a piano teacher who travels to homes, so my step count is ridiculously high. . . and wrong. The suggested fix of designating activities is not practical. I've had a few Fitbits and never had a problem like this. I think you should either fix it or declare a recall and give people back their money. The device does not perform as expected

@Fabulous60 - A Fitbit on the wrist is designed to capture hand/arm motion in addition to steps. (See the full explanation here.) That said, I’m not surprised that your piano playing is captured as steps. You should see the “steps” I get during my cardio drumming class! To solve this issue, I simply slip my Inspire in a side pocket during class. This way, it captures steps without taking into account the excessive arm movement.

Wish I'd seen this before I just purchased one for my husband who is a professional pianist. If he takes it off every time he plays, he will lose it somewhere. I really like the usage and info from my Fitbit so bought him one since he's way less active than I am and now it's useless for giving him accurate info to motivate him to move more.
I'm wondering if I can still return it since it's only 1 week old. Also does anyone know of another tracker that will work for a pianist?
Thanks!

@Shalevca - You should be well within the return window if that’s what you want to do. Or ... you can purchase a clip like this one. Then he can clip it where ever he wants ... waist, shirt pocket ... even his shoe. You would just want to turn off the HR feature when using the clip. I go back and forth between my wrist and the clip.
