Inspire HR won't hold a charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Inspire HR will not stay charged for longer than a day. I have turned off my Bluetooth to save battery life. I turned off notifications so that doesn't drain the battery. Basically, I'm not able to use any of the features it has and it still wont keep a charge! Suggestion? Will they replace it? Thanks for any advice!

Have you tried restarting your HR? This is like rebooting the unit as there may be something running in the background that is draining your battery. Try restarting two or three times in a row.  The procedure is:

Restart Inspire HR
If you can't sync Inspire HR, you have trouble with connected GPS or tracking your
stats, or your tracker is unresponsive, restart your device:
1. Connect Inspire HR to the charging cable. For instructions, see "Charge your
tracker " on page 7.
2. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds. Release the button.
When you see a smiley face and Inspire HR vibrates, the tracker restarted.
Restarting your tracker reboots the device but doesn't delete any data.

A warm welcome to the Community @Tammyj301 and @wtksk8r thanks for the input.

I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this battery issue by yourself. If your Inspire HR isn't holding a charge, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Can I improve my Fitbit device's battery life? and follow the tips provided there. After these steps, test your unit.

Let me know the outcome. 😊

Thank you! I did that and waited a couple days to see how it was working. It is a bit better but that is still without using any of the functions of the Fitbit (notifications and such). Why have them if I cant use them:) Thanks again!!

I tried this, but my fitbit still won't hold a charge. I charge it overnight and try to use it through the day. It says it has 100% charge in the morning, but by 4pm I get the image of the battery with an exclamation mark and my battery charge is almost out. This started a week ago for me, and restarting the fitbit did not help. Any ideas?

Ditto here. Mine is less than 6months old. I have reset it repeatedly.  None of the settings have changed, my activities, nothing else has changed except battery life. But after fully charging,  it is down to 38% less than 12hrs later. A month ago, I could go 4 days.

I just got mine and the battery is draining like crazy. I could use my Alta HR for days in end and the inspire won’t make it through the day. If this is a recent issue maybe something in the Fitbit update is causing it to drain the battery?

I did everything they suggest -  cleaned contacts, used my laptop to charge it, restarted, turned off syncing - mine won't even go 2 hours. Have no idea what changed. Just stopped working 2 days ago and will not hold a charge at all.

Reached out to Fitbit support. They confirmed this is a known software issue with Fitbit and the team is working on a fix. They were nice enough to send me a replacement watch part in the meantime. I suggest reaching out to them. New watch part works perfectly for me even with all my notifications turned on.

thank you so much - couldn't find this info easily with all my searching - that it's a known issue and working on fix, so thanks for responding.

I charged my Inspire Hr at 2pm, did a half hour POUND workout and walked for a mile.  I do not use it to track with Bluetooth and only syn a couple times a day on my ipad.  It went from 100% at 2pm to 38% at 9pm.  I had already charged it twice (not fully) earlier in the day.  It was at 83% yesterday evening (around 6:30) and when I got up this morning at 9, it was at 18%.  I have followed all the steps on this page and it still won't keep a charge.

Well, after going back and forth with support for several weeks (it's quarantine, so that's understandable), they tell me my fitbit is not eligible for any kind of replacement, and offered a 25% discount on my next Fitbit.  Needless to say, there will never be another Fitbit for me.  Lasted a year, and then abruptly developed this problem overnight.  Charge lasts a half hour, then the device dies.  Absolutely useless piece of junk.  Trying to find out if I can at least recycle it.  $100 isn't chump change to most people.  That's a lot of money, and should last longer than a year.  Planned obsolescence garbage.

Ugh. This just happened to me this week! So frustrating. Mine is 13 months old I'm sure they won't do anything for me. Very disappointed. Definitely will think long and hard before investing in a new one. 😣

That happened to me. Mine also was turning warm and stopped working within 3 days of no holding charge. They gave me instructions to send it, they fixed it for free and is starting to do it again.

did anyone get any feedback on this and why it is happening?

I was told that they knew there was an issue with the battery. I had to prove that my Inspire did not keep a charge by fully charging it and then syncing it every hour. Once it drained (after 6 hours) I called again and the sent me a new one.

I have tried everything listed-cleaned contacts, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, turned off all notifications and it will only hold the charge for 2 hours.  And the display becomes split screen as well.  This just started.  Is there any other ideas I can try?

Same here except worse

at first I noticed I could swipe up or down and that was frustrating. I plugged it in to the wall, then the computer thinking it needed an update, and I reset it like 20 times. Smiley face all that Jazz. Charged it to 100%. 3 hours later completely dead still not swiping. It seems like it’s toast. I’ve had it for 7 months.

Starting to think these things are just garbage. They don't care. Just need you to buy it once at $100 and keep suckering people in. Yours should still be under a year warranty though, so hopefully they will fix it.  The support is a little backed up during these unusual times, but they do respond.
