Inspire HR won't record exercise

My steps, minutes and miles all record just fine.  However, even though I've snowshoed for a mile the Inspire HR doesn't record any type of exercise.

I expect you are relying on auto-recognition.  This works for only a few workout types where Fitbit thinks it can recognize what you are doing based only on your wrist movement pattern.  You can see the list and set the minimum time for each to be considered a workout from phone app Today screen, tap Days of Exercise tile, then gear icon near top right.  Even when you are doing one of these, it is error-prone trying to decide what you are doing.

The safer way is to use the Exercise App, and your workout will always be recorded.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
