My Fitbit logged 5,000 steps while I slept and I can’t get it reset. I’ve tried every troubleshooting solution including factory resetting my device. How do I remove these incorrect steps?!

Hi there @amcole02, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided about the steps logged on your Inspire HR while you were sleeping. I appreciate you've taken the time to troubleshoot this prior to contacting us.
While reading your post I was wondering if when you woke up you only saw the 5,000 steps logged or you saw the steps from the day before added to the new day?
If you saw only the 5,000, remember that the wrist trackers count steps depending on the movement of your arms, when you are driving or for example when your tracker is close to a fan or in a night stand. In these scenarios, your tracker counts steps due to the vibrations.
Also, sometimes I get steps when waking up, but is due to Fitbit trackers may register movements or restlessness as steps when you're wearing it while you sleep. The number of steps typically measured during these periods is minimal, and should not offset your overall fitness progress. Any steps taken to and from other rooms during the night will also be tracked. I'd recommend taking a look at the article: How accurate are Fitbit devices?
On the other hand, if your tracker steps carry over from the previous day, wen this happens, even if you try to restart your tracker, delete the app, negate the steps, this won't work. Everything will be back to normal the next midnight when your tracker resets the information as it should. We are not sure what might have caused this, but we would expect this to be one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your Inspire HR.
In case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate.

I'm guessing that fitbit hasn't found what is causing this glitch because it is happening with mine as well. It has happened 3 times in the last month. It's frustrating when I have it synched with my "My Fitness" app and it thinks I have more calories expended than I actually have. Hey Fitbit! Any fix yet?
