Inspire HR won't swipe

I'm trying to swipe up or down on my Inspire HR and I can't. The main screen lights up but I can't swipe to any others. It worked fine yesterday. Can I restart it?

Same happened to me, mine stopped swiping yesterday, I think, but I though it was because it got splashed with water but apparently they’re waterproof so…

I don’t know what happened to it, can anyone help? I’ve reset it about 10 times and nothing???

The same thing is happening to me. My Inspire HR will sync with the app, fortunately, but I can't swipe/scroll. I've tried to reset but nothing happens. I've held down the button for 5 seconds, I've held it down for more. I have tried this when charging and when not charging the device.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @Ouat1234 and @HappyCamper45.

@Ouat1234 Thanks for the details shared in your post and for already trying to resolve the issue. I was able to see that you have already contacted our Support team regarding this and that they were able to assist you. Thank you for your time and efforts.

@HappyCamper45 I am sorry that you are going through the same situation. I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts and recommend trying the following:

  1. Confirm the steps to restart your device: How do I restart my Fitbit device?
  2. Change a clock face: How do I change the clock face on my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

The swipe issue is a known problem with the Fitbit HR. If resetting it doesn’t work and the device is not still under warranty, you’re out of luck. The solution Fitbit offers is a discount on a new device. Instead of a discount, why not offer to fix it?

Hello I’m experiencing the same thing, i trued to restart but it still doesn’t work, what could be the problem and how can I fix it?

I tried this and it still is not working. Is there another fix to try?

Nope. I just spoke w their 24/7 available rep. Restart is all you can do. If it doesn't work after restart or it won't let you even do a restart, they tell you that you will be contacted via E-mail by the warranty rep. They say that even if you are out of warranty. Either way you get an email and they try and get you to buy another upgraded one with a discount. Otherwise if you are within the warranty period they send you a refurbished one, not a new one, despite what the rep says. My first one was just 4 months old. I am on my second one and they told me tonight that my now over one year old replacement is defective and the warranty rep will email me. Basically, I'm sol. Perhaps they will offer a 10% discount on another pricier Fitbit. But I say no way. I never wore mine in the shower or dropped it. I refuse to waste more cash. Good luck to you tho.

--------

You are 100% correct. Does this same thing happen w the fancier models or what? It's crazy really.

---------

My Fitbit HR (I'm on a replacement and it suffers the same problem) also doesn't swipe or respond to taps either. It's been that way for quite some time despite restarts but I couldn't deal with it because I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer etc. It's unfortunate because I wasted a ton of money on a premium membership I forgot to discontinue. Tonight I was told that since the restart couldn't resolve the problem, that my device is defective and that I will be contacted by warranty via email. I suspect since I'm out of warranty they may offer a slight discount for a pricier Fitbit.

My question is are all the models plagued with such problems? Do any of these devices work for more than a year or maybe 2, and if so, which models? Also, if the device fails withing the first 3 months do they also only provide you with a refurbished model? I find that very unfair. I need to start moving again and I want to use a step counter to motivate me. I just am so frustrated with everything right now so your input would be appreciated. I am very immunocompromised so I don't shop in stores and may just buy something on line but I just don't like getting shafted. The rep on the phone promised I would get a new HR and not a refurbished one when my very first one failed, but they sent a refurbished one. I called to check. I just like people to be straight w me. Thanks

---------

Call the company. They will open a ticket and then email you. There are no other tricks to try. If you are within warranty they will offer you a discount to buy a pricier model or they will offer to send you a refurbished model that will likely do the exact same thing. It's supper frustrating and infuriating. I never dropped either of mine nor ever wore them in the shower etc. Ugg. But I wish you luck

----------

You can't. If a r start doesn't work, your toast. Contact the company for a replacement if you're in warranty. Good luck.

I had the same problem. I contacted support and the screen worked after a restart. Later it stopped working at random intervals. I have been instructed to try to factory reset the watch, however, the button would not work. I have been told that I need to buy a new watch as this one does not work anymore. I wish that I could factory reset it from my phone or computer as it can sync to those devices, However, because I can not factory reset it through the computer I have to get a new watch.

I’m having the same issue, where the screen is stuck on the clock face, and I can’t swipe to any other screen. I’ve tried restarting my Inspire HR several times now. I can get the smiley face to show up, but it doesn’t vibrate, and it hasn’t fixed the screen not working properly.

Because my watch worked occasionally they told me to try to factory reset it whenever I could swipe. Your watch may be a lost cause 😞 it is really a shame because Fitbit products are expensive. I truly believe that if Fitbit allowed you to factory reset the watch in the app everyone’s problems would be fixed, but I guess that’s not a feature. Good luck with your watch Kayla.

Hello! My Fitbit screen isn’t swiping up or down either, I tried restarting it and it’s still not working. Any other tips?  Thank you!

I would try restarting by holding the power button for 5 seconds, if it
allows you to swipe, factory reset it immediately. In my case the screen
got worse and worse so if you can factory reset it that would be your best
Option

I am having the exact same problem as you and I have no idea what to do.

The only thing I can do is see the clock face, And push the button so that I can go to the screen with the battery picture and the top of the little light bulb which I can turn on and off.... But that's it.

I had this exactly problem. I tried contacting Fitbit and got a no reply email. This has been going on for over a week. Then yesterday it suddenly started working again without me having done anything to it!!!! I hope you have the same thing happen. Good luck.
