After charging this morning the clock face only shows the time. Unable to swipe up or down. Attempted restart but wouldn't work.

I'm having the same problem too. I charged it yesterday and all was fine, but this morning it's just faded clock face and won't scroll.

Just spoke to Fitbit. Told to restart by connecting charging cable to computer and tracker and then holding button until smiley face appears. Worked for me so give it a try

Hello guys, thanks for your participation in the Community. I appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this swiping issue.
@Baddow and @Liselot, I am glad to hear that this problem has been resolved. If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it.
@MJRioux and @marathongirl04, if you haven't tried the restart process, I recommend give it a try by following the instructions provided in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
Let me know the outcome.

I did try the restart as well, I never got the smiley face, and tried it a couple of times, but it suddenly started working again so mine is fixed as well.

I had the same problem too - strange that we have all had this problem today!
I think the Help n Support for Fitbit is excellent. Have had a fitbit for many years now (Not the same one) and have always had my issues sorted straight away x

I thought it was weird too that it was all that day (and I have the updated software) but I agree, I've had a fitbit for years too and always have had very excellent customer service.

Can’t swipe up or down and even after resetting and getting the smiley face it still doesn’t work. 😢

Tried to reset but won't go to smiley face. Won't show battery level. Uninstalled fitbit app, reinstalled fitbit app, unpaired with Bluetooth, turned phone off, now won't pair again and is still showing just time and heart rate.stuck. Have two fitbits-one purchased in October for friend and this one that was received in December as gift. Both are doing same thing.
Very disappointed in purchases.
