Inspire HR won't sync with my new phone

I just got a Moto G Stylus 2024 phone for Christmas and i used to have the older version of the Moto G Stylus. I have had my Inspire HR Fitbit for awhile now and have never had a problem syncing it to my old phone but since i got this new one it will not sync. I have tried all the tricks, uninstalling and installing the app, turning on and off Bluetooth and the phone, rebooting my Fitbit, and nothing is working. Since it won't sync i can't get any notifications on it which is frustrating. Has anyone else had this issue? If so what do i do?

Any help is greatly appreciated  🙂

Hi there, @Cheetarah. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Inspire HR won't sync with your new phone. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

In addition to the steps you've done so far, I'd suggest making sure that your Inspire HR is no longer connected to your old mobile device as this might be preventing your Fitbit device to properly connect to your new phone.

With that being said, please follow the steps below in the order listed:

  • Unpair your Inspire HR from your old phone's Bluetooth and also from the new phone.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your new phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Inspire HR again.
  • Set up notifications on your Inspire HR again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Inspire HR first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Good morning and thank you for your response. I have done all the steps you suggested. My Fitbit tracks my steps so I am assuming it is synced with my phone but when I get a text I can't get it to notify me on the actual Fitbit. I can't seem to find the notifications in the Fitbit App. I can find the push notifications and things like that but nothing else. When I looked at the "set up notifications" link you sent I realize that when I go into the Today tab I do not have a devices icon. I can go into the Fitbit settings but can't find anything to do with text notifications. I even followed instructions to turn the Fitbit device on and off and that didn't seem to do anything. It is just so weird why I can't receive messages on my device anymore.

Good afternoon,

I actually figured out that since i don't have the devices icon  i had to tap on the battery icon in the upper left of the app and then click on my actual device the Inspire HR and go into the notifications tab to make sure the that vibration settings were on. I guess since my Inspire HR is older it did not have the devices icon tab that is in the directions that you sent. I actually watched a YouTube video and it showed me how.
